Why do you two support Bolton if you're from Wigan? My older brother is a Bolton fan and started taking me to games when I was a child, I fell in love with the club and the rest as they say, is history

How come your brother is a Bolton fan? You'd have to ask him that, and as far as I know, he is not a member of this forum. So... Anyway, theres no distance at all between Wigan and Bolton and Latics were a nothing club back in the 90's, I suspect this may have played a part. You'd be surprised how many Wiganers support Bolton! Me and Wiggy are just 2 of many!

Gloria, aren't you supposed to be on the hissy fit site?
I'm not contracted to any site. Nor do I like to participate in the big dramas everyone creates over who posts where. I just write wherever takes my fancy at that particular time. Gloria.

You're more than welcome to stay here too Gloria. People can post wherever they want and if that place is Burnden Aces, that's fine by me.

Just heard there was a fight outside Yates's about 6. no idea if it was football related but wouldn't be surprised.
Not football related. There'd been a 5 pence increase on bags of dry roasted

I have no feelings either way, they are not a football town so their fans tend to have a chip on their shoulder.I hope they stay up though the more North West teams in the premier the better as far as Im concernced.

Not as big as the chip supporters from Merseyside carry around.

I really don't like Wigan. Heard someone once describe them as the "turd that won't flush" which I think is accurate. Our results against them are rarely as good as they should be. I miss West Ham.

Looks like we're gonna miss them next season too.

I don't like Wigan. I hate a good number of teams far more, but I still don't like them. I've no respect for them though. No doubt to someone living down in Kent or somewhere now ignorantly sees Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan as the same. Poorly supported, poor teams this season, and the Premier League would be well rid.
But, and I hate to credit Blackburn here, but us and Blackburn have histories which we can be proud of. We have a true tradition and are proper clubs. Wigan Athletic are a lower league team, always are, always have been. They are in the top flight but could and should have gone down each of the last three seasons.
Their total enjoyment when they beat us doesn't surprise me. As CJ said I'm sure there are plenty "Notlob" living in or from Wigan and the fact we've always been better than them overall must grate over the decades. But while it's funny to beat them, I just don't have the same level of anger or rivalry as I do towards United, Blackburn, more recently Stoke, Tranmere or Wolves.

Latics fans actually call us "Noblot" nowadays Chris. I know what you're thinking, they actually managed to find TWO anagrams of Bolton Also, after hearing a few of them on a bus the other day, apparently our stadium is a shithole and our badge looks like sperm.....

Stadium is far better than theirs, and if our badge resembles a sperm, our badge has far more intellect than those inbred bastards.

Ah we'll give that second anagram to the Shakers, they must deserve some credit for being the only club to hate BWFC more than they love their own. I often wonder though if our hatred for United is seen (by them) as similarly pathetic as Wigan/Bury's hatred towards us...
