As far as local derbies go, our's with Wigan has to be the most amicable in the country. How many other clubs can you think of located in border-sharing towns that give a smaller sh1t about one another? I hate Wigan when they beat us, and the racist scratters within their support are irritating but otherwise they don't bother me. If anything, I wish them well for being another North West club that often falls victim to football snobbery. I've certainly never undersood "We hate Wigan" chants when it must fill the Bolton-hating section of their support with a huge amount of satisfaction.
Thanks for reading, and for your responses,
Gloria.

I cant feckin stand em. During my teens in the mid/late 80s, I found the town to be full of w*nkers on nights out there and even as an adult, when you start work at a new place invariably the biggest most insufferable tosser in the place is nearly always a Wiganer. I dont feel as much antipathy towards the team, but since it will pee off their supporters, I hope they go down and then slowly bankrupt. Bstrds

I love Wigan for one reason, Wigan casino, other than that I could'nt give a fcúk about a small town in Westhoughton.

As someone who was born and brought up in Wigan, I can't stand them. When I was growing up they were in the Cheshire league at rundown Springfield Park and I cannot believe they are now in the same league as us, let alone the Premier league, and to add insult to injury probably in a better situation financially. We have to beat them and hopefully relegate them, then watch their crowds dwindle back to the 3 or 4 thousand they deserve

No problem at all with Wigan, small fish in a big pond, some would say the same about us, I dont want them to go down as long as it's not at our expense, Of course I do have a Wigan post code but was born in Bolton, to be honest I only Hate ManU and the Red Scousers.

For me, Wigan are like Marmite. They're disgusting. They've got the worst fans in the Premier League and it probably reflects on the team which is why they're bottom of the league!
But hey, it's not about the fans, it's about the team, which unfortunately, is also rather poo.

Terrible bunch today. Trouble in the ground with flairs and the police and then after the game they were kicking off on the way to the train station. The horses and dogs were out in numbers to put them in their place but I wouldn't be surprised if more trouble occured on the platform/trains. I'd like to praise the BWFC stewards for the superb work they do. Every away game I go to, the majority of fans are frisked on their way in the ground. Their main problem seems to be plastic bottle tops. How the hell do they not pick up on about a dozen flairs being taken in. Useless. One guy threw one on to the pitch and it landed a few yards away from Al Habsi. Could have been a lot worse.

I found it funny when the steward in the box behind them starting squirting a fire extinguisher over the cúnts. That soon put the flares out.
