I'm going Stuart Pearce - Knows the England set up inside out. Nice safe bet, and probably relatively inexpensive. The FA know we won't achieve much in the forthcoming European Cup, they just don't want to embarrass themselves again.
Alan Pardew a close second for me - solid(ish) track record. Underrated IMO.
Twitchy won't take it as it's a poisoned chalice and, despite him being a wideboy, I doubt he will want to leave Spurs in the lurch.
They give Woy a wide birth as he still has egg on his face after punching above his weight at Liverpool.
The current FA administration won't have the nuts to take a gamble on another big name foreign signing.

Really hope Wenger wouldn't get it. He'd just pick the entire under-21 team.

Really would not want Pearce in charge permanently, he fucked up at club level, and it will be the same outcome as the Mclaren appointment, Arry is the man for the job, or failing that Lardarce.

Guus Hiddink for me.
Jose Mourinho would most likely replace 'Arry at Spurs, should 'Arry be appointed new England manager.
Not sure that Spurs would want 'Arry to leave. He's brought them from bottom of the PL to 3rd in just 2-2.5 years.
Money will ultimately talk regarding Spurs, 'Arry and probably Jose.
Pardew has pulled himself out of the running.

Sounds good doesn't it? But Pardew never had a chance of it. So he rules himself out and he gets credit for loyalty to Toon and recognition that he 'could' have got the England job. He's always liked a bit of solid PR work.

I would now like to officially rule myself out of the running for the vacant England Manager's position. I am flattered but I am very happy in my admin job.

Surprised at that reaction, I think you were 5th favourite behind Mourinho. I can officially state I am available for my country so will not be taking my name out of the hat.

You've got to love the press. For once, how about they just let a man do his job instead of blowing everything way out of proportion.

I get the feeling the press love the negative stuff when it comes to England. They wouldn't know what to write if we actually won something....

Pardew would be a laughable appointment. Is a good half a season all you need to be classed a good manager? Where would Newcastle be without Demba Ba?
Hodgson would just be a completely negative appointment and have disaster written all over it. It wasn't just the Liverpool fans' fault it didn't work out there. He should stick to managing small relegation threatened clubs, not big ones or national sides.
And Stuart Pearce would just be madness as his only proper job has been at City where he was clueless.
Thanks for reading,
Gloria.

Got to love the irony. It would probably end up with him & Terry stuffing bars of soap in socks to beat Rio with. Has to be Redknapp. Simply to shut everyone up from saying "We'd have won it with 'Arry in charge". Be interesting to see if he could somehow manage to bankrupt the FA as well as clubs. Should be English anyway. International tournaments are about our country's best against theirs. That should include the manager too.

There is nothing wrong with beating Rio as long as Terry gets it too

It seems certain to be Redknapp but I went for Hiddink, who has a good record of managing at a high level and in tournaments. Redknapp is unable to manage anyone without spending huge amounts of money and has won next to nothing.

I'm a big fan of big Sam. He has to be the most underrated British manager alive today. We're it not for a certain Mike Ashley - a gobshite of the highest order who knows absolutely jack shíte about football, and for the indian chicken farmers, BS would probably be the front runner now. He's tactically astute, a meticulous planner with a real eye for detail, an innovator and someone who has proven he can get everyone pulling in the same direction. His organisational skills are first rate - probably the most essential attribute for he job.
I predict he will bring WHU back into the prem and, given the opportunity, will make West Ham a real force next season. He'll not get the job because I don't believe the FA really understand football..they're either slaves to the latest fad or more concerned about appointing someone who just speaks their language and accepts the dogma of anti racist political correctness.
Big Sam for me.

It has to be Stuart Pearce. Stuart Pearce was appointed number 2 some 4 years ago in order to learn from Capello and groom him to be the next England manager. If Harry was to become next England manager, he would want his team with him which would mean Stuart Pearce just being the U21 manager and that is it. What a complete waste of time and money that will have been these last 4 years if Pearce isn't the next England manager.

I fear you're right...but sounds like a Keegan type appointment to me. Don't see Pearce as his own man who has the gravitas to command respect from all involved. BS much stronger intellectually and much more commanding.
