Technika TVs

I'm moving house soon, and will be buying a new TV for the living room. I saw a 40" one for £300, which seems a bargain, but it's from some company called 'Technika' which I've never heard of.
Does anyone either have one, or have experience of the brand? Are they any good?

They're alright, but nothing more than that.
But, as always you get what you pay for.
All depends how picky you are. Can you see it working? If so, that should tell you all you need to know.
You should be able to pick up something like a Toshiba Regza for not too much more.
Alternatively, plenty of businesses sell ex-display models on Ebay. Again, for £300 you should be able to get something better than a Technika, as long as you don't mind it not being straight out of the box.

I've had a £30 Technika DVD player for about 10 years now and it's still going strong, never had trouble with it.
Have you tried Richer Sounds in Prestwich, or look on their website. Telly's are coming down all the time, you should be able to get a decent one for £300. Another good website is Ebuyer, always got bargains on there, I've had a laptop off them before now.

John Lewis are the place to be for tele's in my opinion, good deals and free 5 year warantee.
Shame I only found that out after buying one at currys!

Technika usually sell their products at Tesco. Not sure if they're a Tesco brand but that's where you'll find them.
I bought a Technika TV last year and one of the speakers went after 2 months. Took it back, got a full refund and bought an LG with all the same specs for £60 cheaper. No problems since.
