Sky Sports understands Bolton have made an official approach for Crystal Palace's Wilfred Zaha. More on site soon.

We can offer them premier league football, playing for bolton in the top league in england would appeal to any player I assure you playing in the lower leagues.
One of Palace's managers worries for Zaha is he wont get gametime at a PL club. Coming to Bolton, he definitely would start, so maybe that gives us an advantage. If we pull Zaha off, and there are now rumours circulating we bid 3.25m for Rodallega, if these are true and we get them, id be over the moon

Sorry to get way ahead of myself but can you imagine the midfield/attack we could choose from next season if we stayed up once Holden and Lee come back if we did get them both! Anyway if being a wanderer has learned me anything it's that you should never get your hopes up regarding transfers.

Reports on Friday evening suggest Bolton have made a formal approach to Crystal Palace for 19-year-old Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha is highly rated at Selhurst Park and a string of impressive performances have attracted interest from clubs such as Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Wanderers are thought to have stolen a march on their Premier League rivals by making an official approach for the England under-19 international.
Palace boss Dougie Freedman will be hopeful of holding on to the player but knows interest from teams in the top flight may well tempt the starlet into a move away from the club before next week's transfer deadline.
http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/news/bolton_make_zaha_approach_2196Saw him play in the Carling Cup in midweek but to be honest, that's the first I'd seen of him. I was impressed but I don't know if he's performed on a consistent basis. I remember Victor Moses getting rave reviews there and reportedly attracting interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid. He ended up at Wigan and apart from a bit of pace, he doesn't really do anything to stand out. If this move for Zaha turns into reality, here's hoping he's a bit better in the long-term than Moses has turned out.

I watched that match a bit late at night I almost fell asleep several times Every time Zaha got the ball it woke me up He is the kind of player that makes you think something is about to happen fast agile and seems to want to take people on

Ooofa
That's some ambition.
Palace fans aren't happy, they wanted him to go to United/Arsenal etc.
Being realistic, he's not at that level yet, better to go to a Bolton and develop his game then move again in a couple of years than someone like Chamberlain who's only just made his debut!

The ever so (un)reliable Alan Nixon is saying since the Zaha news was leaked - presumably by Palace in order to start a bidding auction - we have been offered another player instead.

Sounds like a classic BWFC powerplay.
Go after a player...club release our interest...we realise we'll have to shíte or get off the pot, we get off the pot because that move only worked when we could end the transfer window with; 'oh the other club were just messing us around'.
Nixon basically writes as an unofficial club journalist to keep the fans onside. He's happy to tease fans who'll send him 20 of the same question every day if it's keeping people happy.

Does it for a reason though, Jimbo; as when they do actually do a bit of business he gets to sell it.
Just have to pick through his stuff.

So we're not signing Zaha because the story was leaked? How bizarre

Think it's more complicated; story was leaked because Crystal Palace wanted to start a bidding war, which is either going to drive the price out of our budget, or make the negotiations go on for too long, or both.

Great player who looks more than capable to get into our first team, only 19 too, so we're obviously going to cash in on him in 2/3 years. Hope it comes off though!

You'd have to imagine that a young lad like him will have suitors. Clearly Palace think so, or they wouldn't have leaked it.

This signing is much more like it, fast skillfull and young, however I think it will be really hard to pull off, think Palace will just want to much for him and the second hard bit would be persuading him to come.
Hope we have alternative targets just incase. Times running out !

I have only heard good things of Zaha, but I haven't really had the chance to see him play as of yet. but as a lot of people have been saying I will refuse to believe it until he's wearing the shirt. This whole kind of transfer deal seems all too similar to the Suarez, Thiago and Hoilett deals...

Parish confirmed that verbal bid from Bolton was rejected and that it was "not even under consideration". #cpfc
Parish: "We never went public. They [Bolton] obviously want people to think they are doing something." #cpfc

I can't see this coming off, certainly not for the £5m that's being mooted.
I'd imagine they'll be looking for more like £10m. Look at Oxlade-Chamberlain to Arsenal for example.

Well the 5 million we offered has been rejected and oc is unwilling to raise the offer! So I guess this deal is dead and with only 2 days left not sure we will manage to get anybody else
