Clint Dempsey states we would like to leave Fulham (to play champions league)
There was a little discussion on weather he is good enough to play for a top 4 club
Living in his home town I am a bit curious
Last year I did not rate him but this year I feel he has turned his game around
I think he could do it

He scores a lot of goals for a midfielder and is great in the air.

I can't see one of the top 4 teams wanting him though tbh.

I think he would be a bit part player at a top for club, maybe he would do a job at the likes of arsenal liverpool though...

What if he was English

He'd still be the same player but probably worth twice as much.

You have to think that if he was ever going to get that kind of move he would have been at a massive club by now. He's 28 and at the peak of his game, but in general, even the big clubs don't pay big money for players of that age. Worst thing Megson did was spend all our money on a 28 year old on a 3 year deal.

I thought he was older than 28. He's looked good this season but thats in a poor/average Fulham team. I think he would look very average if he moved to one of the big boys.

I think he's a cracking player.  Got that knack of arriving in the box at just the right time and he's a hell of a finisher too.

He's like a better, fitter version of Kevin Nolan.

I think Dempsey could quite easily slot into the Arsenal team, a team like City or United I am not too sure.

I am surprised Coyle hasn't gone for him with him being from the good old US of A.

I've always rated Dempsey too and if the rumours are true, I think he'd be good for a side like Arsenal too.

Wenger may not sign older players too often but he took Arteta to the Emirates last summer and he's been a great signing for them.

I can't see it happening but Dempsey to Chelsea would give the Fulham fans something to moan about.

I feel he would fit in well at the pool
Has a good work rate and horrible temper
I could see suarez Bellamy and Dempsey infighting and king kenny doing alot of hand holding

Clint Dempsey has got Michael Ricketts syndrome. He's having a good season and suddenly thinks he is bertie big bollocks and is too big for his club and that he should be playing for a far bigger club.
He is at the perfect club for him and he should realise it. He is never a player United, Chelsea, City, Arsenal, etc would want.
Clint, learn from Michael Ricketts or Steven Pienaar. Realise what you have at the club you are doing so well for. You are a first team regular for a nice club and enjoying your football.

Au contraire.  Dempsey has been an excellent performer for a while now, admittedly this season is his most productive to date, but he's been around for long enough to know he's not a flash in the pan.
