We have seventeen games left. Fifty-one points up for grabs, to add to our current total 19.

I think that is fair to say that the first half of this season has been utter garbage. But we appear to be improving as of late, however, that still doesn't take away the fact that we've seen some atrocious performances in the last four or five months. Nevertheless, my question to you all is simply this: Do you think that we will survive?

Think about it. If we survive this season, no matter by how little, we'll have both Stuart Holden and Lee Chung-Yong back and fit for the start of the next campain. And along with the signings of Nigel Reo-Coker and David Ngog we will have a fantastic first eleven compared to last year and the year before that. We'll obviously have the summer to get rid of deadwood, and of course bring in players for further improvement. What I'm saying is that we would have a real chance of doing well and having one of our most successful seasons in a long time.

However, ALL OF THAT remains on the shoulders of our current first team. If we go down most of our current team would leave, we would have to bring in average and cheap players and look to remain in the championship, and even if we do that we won't be able to get back into the big time due to the lack of funds. So I ask it again, CAN WE fcuking DO THIS? Because I'm certainly growing more and more uneasy by the minute.

Up until the middle of December you'd have been hard pressed to find many people who would have thought we could stay up.

Things have improved since then and it was great to get a win at home, especially against a side such as Liverpool. We need to keep pace with QPR, Wolves and Blackburn and be within touching distance of them at full time against Man City on March 3rd.

After the Arsenal game a week on Wednesday, the three home games that follow that are Wigan, QPR and Blackburn. There can't be any excuses. We really have to take 6-9 points from those three games.

If we keep up the standards shown in some of our recent games, we can definitely survive. We're not in the bottom 3 at the moment, so as long as we get the same results as teams below us and then beat them, survival is there for the taking.

4 or 5 weeks ago it would be a resounding NO WAY from me.  However, with Coyle finally dropping the likes of Jussi, KD and Robbo, we seem to have a much better functioning starting 11; helped, no doubt, by the return of Ricketts and Steinsson coming back into some form.

I'm tentatively optimistic.  Cheesy

If we can build on yesterdays performance and bring in some fresh legs then maybe, be hard but maybe.

Arsenal is a massive game for us and in some ways they are the perfect next home opponents as we always seem to turn it on against them at our place.

I don't like to say this but I think we should play a 2nd string against Swansea because they are gonna play us off the park anyway. IMO we could do without an FA Cup distraction, we certainly don't need any more injuries.

If we keep playing 4-5-1 i think we are better than blackburn wigan & wolves. Its going to make for an exciting end to the season,i just hope we are not all dissapointed.

Theres some massive games coming up,i actually fancy us against arsenal....we will probably get smashed now lol.

I think one of the main reasons we are doing better is we have a striker who makes the ball stick and actually makes defenders think.Ngog has pace and skill, something we havent had upfront for years.

Ngog is the main reason the football has improved recently cos they are playing it on the deck to him and he tends to hold it up and bring other players in really well. He was excellent yesterday, a proper centre forward performance, shame he didn't get a goal aswell cos he deserved it.

Well if we play like that every home game and get a few more away games I think we will. With players to come back and any new signings we have a strong case.  Grin Grin Grin

With our run-in fixtures after the City game compared to those around us & players due back from injury if we keep up the same level of performance & tactics as yesterday we have every chance.

At Xmas I was resigned to us going down and got myself prepared mentally.  Now the bastrds have given me hope  :'(

The only thing bothering me at present is that there are no whipping boys this year, all of the sides down there look capable of picking up surprise points - just hope we can pick up more than 3 of em

I think we can stay up. Coyle has finally worked out the best way for us to play without Chungy and Holden with this 4/5/1 system. After getting a surprise 3 points against Liverpool I hope this has shown the boys that we can take points against the big boys and we can definitely do the same against Arsenal if we play the same team! We still have a lot of winnable home games left and we have got to think that maybe a team from higher up the league could get dragged into this!
