Our ex reserve captain Jaroslaw Fojut has just signed a pre-contract for the summer with Celtic.
Both of our ex-Polish lads who never really got a crack have gone on to relative (to most our reserve drop-outs) success. Augustyn had a little run in Serie A and is now playing regular Serie B on loan.

I always thought he was going to be a decent player for us and was surprised we released him when we did. He did an interview for us in August 2008. Top bloke too. Good luck to him at Celtic. http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/news/fojut_waiting_for_bolton_opportunity_576

Celtic have signed Jaroslaw Fojut from Polish league-leaders Slask Wroclaw on a pre-contract agreement.
The 24-year-old defender has agreed a three-year deal with the Scottish Premier League leaders that will commence from the summer.
Fojut spent five years at Bolton from 2004 to 2009, making one appearance.
"He already knows the British game, so I don't think it will take him too long to adapt to the rigours of Scottish football," said manager Neil Lennon.
Lennon, speaking to the club website, said he has been aware of Fojut for some time.
"I actually played against him when he was on loan at Luton for Nottingham Forest and often wondered what happened to him, as he was on loan from Bolton at the time and I was really impressed by him," he added.
"So (Celtic scout) John Park and myself got talking, and his name came up again.
"We did a bit of homework on him since then, and I think he's been in excellent form for his club this year and on the verge of international recognition.
"To get him on a pre-contract is a good bit of business again for the club.
"He's strong, technically good, quick, and he's very good in the air.
"At 24, he's at a good age. He had a bad injury and was out of football for around a year, but it looks like he's come back stronger than ever, and I'm pleased with the signing.
"I think his all-round game is very good. He has been playing at a decent level of football from a young age, but what I like about him is his physical qualities."

"Always wish any of our ex-players well. However, if he couldn't even break into the first team at Bolton it just goes to show the level of Scottish football"

Talking about former players who have kind of done well after leaving us, what about Dzemali? He is now a first team starter at Napoli. It sounded like they paid big money for him in the summer. Why did we let someone go so soon if they were so good? Any ideas?

From memory Megson let Dzemali go. Knowing Megson I am not surprised.

I said the other night that the coaching and back ground staff now and since Big Sam left are the worst that I can remember in all the 27 years I have been supporting Bolton

I think the club always knew Dzemali had talent but after the injury he picked up after arriving the club obviously were suspicious to how well he would play when he came back.
Then again we have given Sean davis enough time to recover so I am sure given long enough we would have reaped the rewards from Dzemali.

Watched Dzemali a couple of times for the reserves and in pre season friendlies just before he was sold and he stood out like a beacon, having said that in one of them so did Andrenik and he hasn't fared quite so well.

I heard Dzemaili had an awful attitude. He was an Allardyce signing and by the time he'd arrived, Sammy Lee was in charge. Then, by the time he was actually fit again, Gary Megson was boss.
Apparently he learnt very little English and the odd thing he did know was used to insult people. Wasn't too fussed when he left but he's gone on to better things I suppose.
