I've got quite a few female friends.
I'd shag them all though.
And often try.

I cant think of many of my female friends that I wouldn't apart from mates mrs's.
Once the initial attraction has faded, you can defo be friends without wanting to nail em

Good question Squidgy. I think men and women can only be friends if one or both of are already married or in a relationship. In that sort of situation you know they are taken or they know you are taken and friendship is all that it could be. I also think you can be friends if you are both single and both aren't attracted to each other but its a bit unlikely that you get on really well with someone single of the opposite sex but neither is attracted to the other. I don't think you can be friends if you're both single and one is interested in the other but the other doesn't feel the same way. Who wants to just be friends with someone they really like and knowing they don't have a chance of anything happening and then watching that person like others?

Interesting question. I used to think no, but as I've got a bit older, I think yes.
I've got one particular female friend in mind. We had a bit of a dabble about 10 years ago, and we get on like a house on fire, and we're very close, but we're just destined to be friends.
I just don't fancy her and I don't think she fancies me either. She got married in 2011 and I couldn't have been happier for her. She comes round mine and we get wasted together and she stays over. There have been plenty of occasions over the years where we've both been single, and stuff could have happened, but there's never really been that kind of tension or spark between us.
As for mates' girlfriends and wives. As soon as I meet someone who is the wife or girlfriend of a mate, it's like a switch flicks in my mind. I don't even think about them that way. I might notice they're attractive in a "marks out of ten" sense, but the idea of ever having a piece is pretty sickening, really.
Which is why I find soap operas so unrealistically incestuous. I would go mental if one of my mates started seeing my ex. Unless you live in a remote village where there are 100 people or something, there's really no excuse for doing that to your mate.

I think that video summed it up quite well. Men, quite rightly IMO, see a blurry line between friendship and physical attraction when it comes to the opposite sex. How ever well meaning our intentions we ultimately think with our cocks.
Woman on the other hand believe it can exist, but deep down they know if the situation came about when the fancied a quick bunk up, then their 'friend' would be all over them like a stray dog.

I would say yes men and women can be "just" friends.
I have quite a few female friends and not one would I think about trying to shag or have a relationship with. If anything with a couple of them we are so close as friends it would especially irretreivably spoil the dynamic if anything happened.
But one thing I have learned with being friends with women, I am more open with them, than with male friends.

Where on earth did you get that idea from? We are just very good friends. She may be cute and everything else but I made a point from the start of the friendship that is all I wanted from her - just friendship.

You used to pretend you and her were an item. I think I must've got it from there.

I have never EVER had a female friend I didn't some how think of having a fiddle with. AMOS is gay or a hermaphrodite ITK

I wonder about the following question - if you are single (or imagine you are single if you aren't), could you be friends with someone who you really like and are really attracted to but they have told you they only want to be friends with you?

You're wrong largehat. Remaining friends with the woman means you always have a chance of a pissed up shag sometime with her.

Never thought of that Dave. I was really friendly with this girl last year who I was really attracted to but she told me she only wanted to be friends. I didn't really want to be just friends, it would only have been really pants when I would have eventually seen her interested in some other guy. So I just drifted away. But I did wonder if I gave up too soon.

Well in the situation you're on about, if you're up front with her she has the power base in the friendship, if you don't tell her how you feel and she later finds out or works it out, she accuses you of misleading her about your intentions or only being her friend because you want to give her a portion. You can't win in that situation. And besides, it can be quite painful spending a lot of time around a bird who you really fancy and it never goes anywhere. Personal experience coming to the fore here.

I think boys and girls can be just friends ... but only if the girl is pig ugly. If she's even 'alright' then after a few beers any lad would be thinking about doing her.
If he didn't think that way there'd be something wrong with him.
I don't have any female friends these days.

Can't men and women still just be friends even if they have a drunken shag now and then?

No, because they always read more into it than what it is. Women also tend not to appreciate being shagged merely because there was nothing else on offer. They're weird like that.
