Work Placements

Serious question, I am in the 2nd year of a 4 year Spanish and Business Course and next year, is my compulsory year abroad in Spain, where I basically learn how to speak Spanish fluency. I have the option of studying in the Universities, but I have less control over where I go then and I really want to live in Madrid next year. I am just wondering if anyone on this board has any contacts for any Spanish companies in Madrid that would be willing to take me on for a year?
Gracias.

What sort of work are you looking for - is it specific to any kind of industry?
Best of luck though, I'm jealous!

Any reason why you are restricting it to Madrid?
Your options may open greatly if you don't limit yourself to one city.

I am looking for anything really. Something that would just widen my experience and skill base and that would make me improve my Spanish. Maybe a kind of job where my English would be useful to put me ahead of other candidates. I am applying for a placement through the University but I might not get it as others will be applying for it! Something to do with Business or marketing would be great though!
And Squidgy, I am not properly limiting myself to Madrid. I just would really like to go there as I have loved the place ever since going there for our Uefa Cup game years ago. Plus I can't go to Barcelona as according to the head of Spanish, he doesn't want anyone learning Catalan Spanish. Also, I don't want to be in a place stuck out in the middle of nowhere. I'd be up for going anywhere to work in general, just I would prefer Madrid over anywhere and I don't really want to study next year as our year is the first year that has to pass Spanish exams next year. I don't want to spend my whole year in Spain revising when I could be getting work experience before my final year in 2013!
Sorry for the essay!

My niece did a year in France doing something similar recently. She loved it and her French is pretty much fluent now.
Good luck mate.
