Bring on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough please!

If we end up with one of the big boys then should just forfeit the replay.

Games like City v United, Liverpool v United will mean better teams going out early.

Swansea beat us quite easily in the Prem away, but it could have been worse.

Wasn't it 0-0 against Swansea until Gardner got sent off? We've got a good chance of getting to the 5th round if we get past Macclesfield. Although, I'm not sure we really want a cup run this year. We need to prioritise survival

We need to stop them passing it round like they did last time we played them.

Is it true that one of the Swansea midfielders had 100% pass completion?

He's either too good for Swansea or we didn't close him down quick enough.

Yeah I think it was Joe Allen.

Since when did Joe Allen possess the passing skills of Xavi? If Barcelona ever played us, I'd be pleasantly surprised if any of their players misplaced a pass all game. I can't imagine what would happen if I ever saw Messi switch flanks and line up against Robbo...

It was, although we were being completely outplayed up until that point anyway.  The sending off just gave Coyle a convenient excuse (and a scapegoat in Gardner) for the defeat.

According to Opta, all four of Swansea's midfielders ran further than any of our that day.  That statistic was very, very damning and one the players should be thoroughly ashamed of.

Hopefully we'll give a better account of ourselves this time round and hopefully Brendan Rogers will make wholesale changes to his team.

... of course I'm counting no chickens.  We've got to get past a Macc team who we are very  lucky to have another chance against first.

Fair enough. But I was seem to remember under Big Sam, we always used to go away and soak the pressure up before grabbing a goal on the break, but of course back then we had some quality footballers. You never know if Gardner hadn't of got sent off then we might of got something.
I fully agree though, they should be ashamed of it and they should have tried to put it right in the next few games but they didn't.
We will probably beat Macclesfield and do ok against Swansea by getting a replay and getting knocked out. As I said our priority should be survival, but maybe a few wins in the cup surrounded by playing all these big sides might give us a bit of confidence boost that we might need to beat the sides in the games after this horror run of fixtures again. Since, when we had this run of games last time, I think we suffered from a lack of confidence in the games we should be winning!

Give me the FA Cup + relegation hand in hand rather than survival and no FA Cup. I just want to see my team with the FA Cup in my lifetime.

It has been confirmed, the game will take place on Saturday 28th January 2012 with a 3pm kick-off.

Should a replay be required, it will take place at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday 7th February 2012, with a 7:45pm kick-off.

Yep, this.

And a few cheeky trips next season.

On the Fa Cup over survival issue, I see where people are coming from, but I would just prefer seeing my team in The Premier League week in week out battling against the best our country has to offer! The Championship is a great league, but the Premier League is where it's at I'm afraid. As much as I loved our cup run last year, I still would not give up our status as a premier league side for winning the cup. Not matter how much I want us to win the FA Cup

Have to agree with this, although the mid to low table obsucrity year on year, there is something heartening about staying up. The ability to hurl horrendous abuse at the streams of glory hunting fans is always enjoyable, nothing beats mixing it with the big boys. Cup runs are nice too though.

I think 5 in the midfield is a better idea to at least slow down the passing of swans

I agree.

The team above is the team I think Coyle will go for, not the team I think we have the best chance with.

Oh, I think he certainly has seen the light.  I just think he'll see the FA Cup as a chance to give some of the other players a run out and to play both Klasnic and Davies means having to go 4-4-2.

I'm sure I'll be proven completely wrong though Smiley

If I were in his spot I would keep the supporters happy and have a go at them
Maybe even Ream a baptism of fire and leave knight on the bench
Put Riley and Rickets out on the sides

I don't think we'll see Ream for a couple of weeks.  When was the last time he played a competitive game?
