I thought that Bogdan had a fairly decent game last night.  I'd put money on it that Jussi wouldn't have done as well.

I'm a fan of the young cheesy wotsit, for a young lad who hasn't played a lot of games this season I thought he did well.

I fully expect him to start again tommorow against Macc.

This

I don't know enough about keeping to know if he should have saved Howard's goal, but beyond that, he looked shaky as hell against Everton.  Kept coming out and failing to get anything on the ball.  It's a minor miracle none of those fell at the feet of an Everton player.

If we go down then Bogdan is going to be our #1 (not just his squad number); even if we stay up I'm not sure Jussi is worth keeping as he's looking like a shadow of his former self.  Selling Al Habsi looks like a worse idea every week.

Were you watching the same game?

He commanded the area quite well. Was a little prone to punching the ball, but there was little more he could of done in most of the situations.

I though he had a very good match tbh, the freak goal ruined it for him. Even Howard commented on how difficult it was for both sets of keepers and defenders to judge anything due to the swirling winds.

Should Bogdan be the new number 1? After his last few performances I say a big yes. He was particularly solid yesterday and made everything look easy. I felt at ease with him in the nets, something I have not felt with Jussi for 12 months.

Also has anyone else noticed Al Habsi likes to make a meal of everything for Wigan? Routine saves he likes to make look spectacular with a few extra spins & rolls. Talk about one for the cameras. I'm not saying that makes him a biz keeper I just think there's no need for it.

Credit were credit is due to Coyle on this. He saw the potential in Boggers.

Yes, he's outdone himself recently and made amends for times when he has not looked so convincing aerially, taking charge in the box. Jaaskelainen just always seems to be trying to save the ball on his knees, it's ridiculous, time for bogs to take over.

Bogdan should keep the spot.  He's not the finished article but at the very least, he's no worse than Jaaskelainen these days.  Jussi needs to know he does not have a monopoly on his position.

The above.

And the difference is that Bogdan is likely to improve as well.

I'll be annoyed if Bogdan is dropped when he is playing so well.

He probably will be though. We've been here before when Jussi has been injured and he just walks right back into the team.

If he's back in training, he should play against Swansea and keep Bogdan for the Arsenal game.

Good point Manny...as long as he is only dropped for the cup game.

We should also keep playing Bogdan to reduce the leverage that Jussi and his fuckhole of an agent have in contract negotiations.

I don't think he will walk right back into the team this time.

I'm inclined to agree.

If Coyle does let him straight back into the starting line up then he is a baboon.

Bogdan deserves a run of games now, I think. He's certainly done nothing wrong toget dropped. So keep him in, whilst his confidence is high and is turning in top notch performances.
