I don't know enough about keeping to know if he should have saved Howard's goal, but beyond that, he looked shaky as hell against Everton. Kept coming out and failing to get anything on the ball. It's a minor miracle none of those fell at the feet of an Everton player.
If we go down then Bogdan is going to be our #1 (not just his squad number); even if we stay up I'm not sure Jussi is worth keeping as he's looking like a shadow of his former self. Selling Al Habsi looks like a worse idea every week.

Im sure the wind played a massive part in the goal.
I actually thought he did ok considering the conditions.

He looked pretty confident and had a decent game IMO. He actually came out for the ball sometimes, unlike Jussi.

And missed.
Yes, but that was only once, when the bounce was lifted higher than anyone expected, thus taking it over him when usually he would have caught it. You would be struggling to find a keeper who would have saved that.

I wasn't talking about the Howard goal. There were a lot of missed punches and catches.

There were a couple when Cahill went for the ball at the same time and he spilled the ball, but he didn't make any major errors, or many minor ones.

Clean sheet apart from that fluke, better than we've had lately.
The lad did at least look like he was trying to help out his defence.

I thought he did alright last night tbh. The goal was a freak and could've happened to anyone.

I don't know enough about keeping
And at that point I stopped reading. Bogdan did well granted he needs some match practice to polish his skills but that's what you get when you've been shadowing Jussi for so long. Given the conditions and the potential for tailwinds I doubt even Casillas would have done much better last night.

Why not? He's being trained by Barber who’s renowned in his field and two others (never really got that) and as with most Keepers will only get better through age. I remember reading people quotes doubting Hasbi when he had a run of games under Megson, now look at him loads of our supporters would love to have him back.

Calm down and keep the caps lock under control. Goalkeepers like most things only get better through practice, and giving them matches often quickens the releases and improves them. The same thing is true for De Gea whose still being made a scape goat for the thrashing City gave them in October. A Goalkeeper in essence is the last line of defence and full credit to them get given one of the most difficult jobs in the game, especially given that they don't tend to run. You're never going to get a Keeper that will prevent goals 100% of the time. What you're looking for is Agility, which Bogdan has, Mobility also there, Positioning which is near enough there and Assertion which will only come after match practice. After seeing him yesterday and in other matches I wouldn't knock him down just yet, how else is he going to get into the team?

Why do I need to get a grip? I'm not suggesting that we replace Jussi with him anytime soon, they both have flaws granted, but we shouldn't write him off either. Also turn your blasted Caps Lock off.

Is Scott from Mongolia?
Anyway, back to Bogdan, I thought he did alright. After his horror show against Chelsea and then beaten by that freak goal by Howard I feared the worse. He stood up to be counte and instead of hiding and not coming off his line for crosses he came out and took a few really well, even cleaned Cahill out with one too if I remember rightly.
I'm not sure I'd be happy with him playing regularly just yet, but give the lad a chance eh?!

He's being trained by Barber who’s renowned in his field and two others (never really got that) The story that I heard – if I am recalling it correctly – is that Coyle wanted to bring in his own goalkeeping coach and let Barber go. Jussi threw a fit and we kept both.
