I am a black man and do not like the attitude of white people.  I want to join a black’s only group and give priority to black people.  My opinion is reasonable & if it causes offence to white people tough.  However, if it might cost me my job then I will argue that I am taken out of context.
Oh wait, sorry,  I am a white man & do not like black people’s attitude.  Suddenly my opinion is racist & I should be locked up for a hate crime.
Could somebody please advise Diane Abbot of the blatant & truly offensive hypocrisy here.
I exaggerate my comments for effect but my attitude is simple, if you can substitute black for white or vice versa & the sentiment suddenly become racists then the problem is not “black” or “white” but in the very expression.
I am actually white, & have been subject to racism, however, people like Diane would deny that is possible & for my money she is a racist, especially as she cannot see the offence.
The fact that at the time of this posting labour are trying to bury her tweet is shamefull.   I do believe in free speech but I also believe it has been eroded.  One ethnic group should not have the right to refer uncomplimentary about another but hold immunity from opposing sentiment & that is where we are.

Heh look, I started a topic.  Does this make me a grown up.

I'm pretty certain Diane Abbot has already been made aware of what she said.

Whilst what she said , in such a sweeping generalistion, was out of order, we need to realise and remember that for CENTURIES us white folk DID discriminate against blacks.  she is of an age where she will have been discriminated against purely becuase of her colour.

As I said, she should not have siad what she did and she's clearly, for want of a far better phrase, still got a chip on her shoulder about it.

IMO she should be severely reprimanded for her outburst and be on a final warning.

It'll go further than that.

There is already a crime report on with her as the named suspect (allegedly).

Whether they decide it is in the public interest or have sufficient grounds to proceed with it is another matter entirely.

Cheeky cnut.  I scored direct from two corners in one game I'll have you know.  Do you know of anyone else who's ever done that?  Eh?  Eh?

Not when the subject has already been mentioned in another thread.

No doubt there is over-sensitivity to any comments made white about black, that over-sensitivity is mostly perpetuated by white people I have found.

I suppose mostly for the right reasons- most of this generation (25 and under) has been brought up to be made well aware of how wrong racism is, and historical purposes were always going to dictate white making comments about black is always going to spark up more than black over white.

Aside from that though there is definitely a culture of liking to be shocked and apalled (lot of it seems to have come with 24-hr media and things like twitter) where people get offended over the slightest thing and love to get up on their high horse and blog or tweet or start a witch hunt about it...suppose it's just modern day blood lust, we love to bring someone famous down, int' (very) olden days didn't they just make a human sacrifice every so often, it would probably have been less messy!

As such any sort of stereotype, joke or use of the term 'black' or 'white' people, maybe misguided, maybe abit lazy or controversial from the pc world we live in and it's RACISM, RACISM, YOU ARE A RACIST!!!

Well, to boil it down quite simply, isn't racism the hatred or persacution of someone based solely on what colour skin they are?

Making a misguided joke or even stereotyping a black person or a white person, that doesn't mean a person hates an entire race.

That said, I've not really looked properly into what Diane Abbott said (because I'm really not arsed)

fcúk me sideways!  The ignorance of some people is ridiculous.  Are you employed by LFC?

No-one has said that Luis Suaraz a racist. He hasn't been found guilty of being a racist.  He HAS been found guilty of using a racist insult.  He admitted to it.  Whether he thinks it is acceptable in his homeland or not is irrelevant.  He's not in his homeland now.

Why can so many people not get their head around the difference betwen the two???

Is it racist to ask if they stole them from black people before they burned them?
