I've been down, out and on my arse with a nasty ear infection so I slept through the match, woke up drowzy and heavily medicated, there were 30 seconds left in the match, loked at the score, looked at the scorerers and concluded I must still be asleep. Quality result and from our point of view Ngog ex-Liverpool had a cracking game and his goal was lovely and then GC with the winner in probably his last game, might not even have been here had CFC sorted this wage hitch out quicker. And from there point of view, wow, Howard. Definitely thought I was seeing things there, to be honest, having seen the replay I don't think Bogdan did too much wrong, a normal bounce and he would have been in position to take the ball.
We seemed to keep the ball better, cut out on major errors(bar a dodgy moment from Zat Knight in the first half) and managed to dominate their midfield- we looked much more assured with 5 across the midfield and assuming that Ngog keeps improving as a lone front man and is willing to work hard and chip in with goals then that might be a winning combo going forward because we seemed quite fluid and interchangable between our attacking front four (Eggnog, Davies, Eagles and Petrov) which is more than can be said for most of the season where we have looked slow, sluggish and predictable.

Credit to my fellow American Tim Howard for not celebrating when his punt went in. Real class act.

Really good performance. It's amazing how different we look in a different formation. We controlled the game really, created a number of chances, and another day, may have had three or four.
Yes, it's only one game, however Coyle's willingness to finally change formation, gives me allot of belief, heading into this tough run of matches. However, we can get points if we play aswell as we did tonight!
Nice job Coyle!

He actually looked a bit upset by the whole thing. Must be some weird goal keepers code.

Oh what a night, a goalkeeper scores, bolton win from coming from a goal down and man utd lose! I wonder what odds you could get on all 3 of those at the bookies. I only managed to catch the game on the radio but it sounded like we deserved the win to be fair, 2 well taken goals from david and cahill. Never seen anything like there 1st goal before, how high that ball bounced was weird and would have been very cruel to lose to a goal like that.

Not one for starting things about formations but if I was coyle tonight I would try a 4-4-1-1
.....Bogdan....
Steinsson.......Cahill......Knight....Ricketts..
M.Davies.......Muamba.....NRC......Pet....
..................Eagles.............
...............Klas or N'gog
Have eagles just behind the lone striker as eagles has been known to chip in with a few goals in that position and try and have him and Davies swap positions now and again.
Oh and seems coyle reads my posts!

There was a moment off the ball when he had one of his little tick attacks. It made me smile.

Superb win last night. We actually deserved it as too. I thought it was the best football we've played in a while and the players really did look up for it. Get in there.

Great result. We played the football that we played last season. Only can go up from here! Must be some weird goal keepers code.
I do remember the commentator saying something about that.

Only can go up from here! Not technically true, but I understand your intentions As long as we're within 3 points of 17th after the next two league games then I'll be content.

Yeah I've seen this before. It's a "that could have been me" kind of thing.
It looked like he didn't know what to do at the time. I saw him get interviewed on Sky earlier and he said he felt for Bogdan and that it had happened to him when he was younger. I'd have been running around like a mad man celebrating if I'd been him.

Credit to my fellow American Tim Howard for not celebrating when his punt went in. Real class act.
"I spoke to him just then and I let him know that I was feeling for him," Howard told Sky Sports.
"It's not a nice place to be. I've been there before, a long, long time ago and that was why I didn't celebrate.
"I was delighted that we were in the lead and would hopefully go on to get three points, but it's not a nice feeling for a keeper, it's really awful actually.
"For the back four and the goalkeepers at both ends, there was an awful wind swirling.
"You could see everybody was mistiming balls. Defenders were missing clearances that normally they would put up the field.
"I think the wind is the hardest condition to play in. Snow, rain, sun doesn't matter, but the wind really does play tricks on you."

I remember that, I think it was a Man U reserve game where the other keeper scored on him. I presume he was aware of the difficulties Bogdan had against Chelsea as well.

Sky has a best team of the midweek games and below it, for Tim Howard's selection, it says that Howard embarrassed Bogdan. Not sure WHERE they get that from. There was nothing to be embarrassed about for Bogdan. He was well positioned and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it.

Not to be biased but I think Howard should have had that, he wasn't as far off his line than what Bogdan was.
