He hasn't been sent back because he's crap, the deal was for him to return on January 1.

I expected more from him during his time here. We saw glimpses of what he could do but he never really impressed me. One of Coyle's bad signings IMO.

Gael Kakuta's loan spell at the Reebok Stadium has come to an end, with the midfielder returning to Chelsea.

Kakuta joined Bolton with high expectations on the final day of the summer transfer window but endured a nightmare stay with the Trotters.

The 20-year-old made just six appearances for Wanderers during his four month stay and failed to make a single Premier League start for the club.

He scored against Aston Villa in the Carling Cup back in September but failed to build on that display, with the likes of Martin Petrov, Chris Eagles and Mark Davies keeping him out of the side.

The player has now returned to Stamford Bridge and is expected to spend the rest of the season on loan at French Ligue 1 side Dijon.

He didn't really get a chance with us.  I'm not sure you can expect a young lad to show his quality without a proper run in the side.

I agree he goes down as a bad signing, but not because he's necessarily a bad player; just because Owen needs to stop signing players he doesn't want to play.

Kakuta has always reminded me of Vladimir Weiss. Lots of tricks but usually no end product. Coyle stopped putting him in the first team squad in the end, which supports rumours that there were issues with his attitude.
