I, with others, will be going to San Marino in Belmont for a meal and a few drinks to see in the New Year

Went to San Marino a couple of months ago. The food was good but was a little bit pricey.

I'm having a quiet one this year. A few cans and a couple of DVDs. Went out at New Year a few years back and it was probably the worst night out I've ever had.

I had to pay double the usual entrance fee and paid upwards of £4.50-£5 for a bottle of lager. Add that to the fact that the taxi companies were run ragged, it'll take something special to get me out on NYE any time soon.

I will be having a leisurely walk around the ever decreasing number of pubs round here, try to catch MOD if we've won, stagger home at some point and spark out until Sunday afternoon.

btw Happy New Year to everyone.

Must admit it is the 1st NYE I have spent in UK for 10 years, last 7 in Amsterdam and 3 successive years in Austria.  For a change I will not have to dodge all the fireworks that will be just thrown in random, in the streets.  Nice quiet sedate NYE - well I hope so!

I have been invited to my sisters house for a small party but I dont think I will go, I will spend it with my parents and son. Its not really a happy time of year for our family and now it dosnt feel right going out and celebrating. In saying that though its been quite a few years since I have went to a pub or club on NYE, paying a fortune to wait 45mins at the bar and get pushed and shoved all night, wait for a taxi that you have paid double for in advance and it not show up.......No thankyou!

Make sure he doesn't try and drive home.

He has a history of doing that.

I am working too,so no big celebrations for me.Although down the years New year has become
less important to me,sooner have a good christmas with the kids and family, and as someone
has mentioned earlier it can be something of a rip-off.Went San Marino couple of years back
food was shite service crap, but that was just my experience.
Anyway all the best to whoever is reading this post have a good un and hope next year for
you is better than this one has been.
