He might not even play that, imagine if he got injured.  We should have sold him in the summer to be honest but hopefully we invest wisely.

To be honest, I'd prefer it if he gave us a good send off, with three points.

£7 Million is not bad though for somebody with 6 months left on his contract.

Yip I agree,we could have got another 4-5 million for him spent it on new players and perhaps we would not be 2nd from bottom.Somebody as fcúk up again like with Elmander being let go on a free,I think he should be demoted or sacked.

I agree with Jams. He owes us. Not the other way round.

He hasn't been very good all season. I shan't be staying behind to give him a rousing send off.

Quote
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed the club have agreed a fee with Chelsea for defender Gary Cahill.

Chelsea are short of cover in central defence, with Alex banished from the first-team squad after handing in a transfer request.

Coyle said: "There has been a fee agreed between the clubs and we have now given Gary's representatives permission to speak to Chelsea."

Cahill, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season.

And Coyle added: "That is where we are with it. We obviously have a game tomorrow [against Wolves on New Year's Eve].

"I have said to Gary that he has to be focused on giving everything for Bolton Wanderers, because he knows Bolton Wanderers has been terrific for him just as much as Gary has been for us.

"That is why [players] have representatives - to sort that out. Whatever 1 January brings it will bring."

Cahill, who joined Bolton in a £5m move from Aston Villa in January 2008, made his England debut against Ghana in March 2011 and scored his first international goal in the 3-0 victory over Bulgaria in September.

If Cahill is indeed to leave Wanderers in the next few days, Coyle will view it as a blessing that the move is occurring early in the January transfer window, giving him a chance to reinvest the money in new players.

The Trotters are currently 19th in the table and, with Cahill departing, it would seem imperative that a squad that has been blighted by injuries is strengthened if they are to avoid relegation.

Bolton have been linked with New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream, who recently trained with the club, although Coyle will not be drawn on targets.

"There are a number of players out there who are of varying degrees of interest to us, and that is where we are," Coyle said.

"There are some good players and I think it is fair to say that we do want to add one or two to the group, but those are players who belong to other teams and I have always tried to be very respectful of that."

There's the quotes, nothing new in there like. Can't wait to see which players Coyle chooses to reinvest the money in. As long as they're of the usual standard, they'll serve us well next season...

I wonder if it's worth biting the bullet and actually doing that- accepting we're probably going to go down and bringing in someone who will guarentee us 15-20 next season like Billy Sharp or Nicky Maynard because I imagine Klasnic will leave if we go down.

Good luck to the lad, he hasn't come out and demanded to leave even in the summer.

Never said he refuses to play if he doesn't get his move and has been very professional all the way through his time here.

Glad he is going to chelsea rather than the munichs to be honest.

Perfect send off if he scores the winner tomorrow.

Chelsea struggling to agree on personal terms. I think there's a little bit of psychology in there to try and get Cahill and his agent to accept less money. Let's face it, Chelsea can afford to pay whatever he wants.

Quote
"We're still miles apart regarding agreement with the player," Villas-Boas said.

"We'll continue to monitor this situation as we continue to monitor others.

"Gary has been this season involved in a fighting struggle with Bolton and a fight for position in the league.

"I think his technical attributes are immense. His pace is fantastic as well.

"There are weaknesses and they are also related to the collective weaknesses of Bolton.

"He's a player that at international level has been playing well.

"He can add to this squad or any squad in the Premier League."

I'm sure Cahill and his agent are aware that there will be a fat signing on fee and higher wages if he leaves as a free agent in the summer.

Well he surely must play until a deal is finally done and we sign somebody else otherwise we will be leaking the double amount of goals in.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is not expecting a quick resolution in his bid to sign Bolton defender Gary Cahill, despite the two clubs agreeing a fee. (sky sports)

Haggle Haggle Haggle then not enough time to bring in replacements,

come on get it sorted!

I'm sure it will mate.

We just need it sorting asap otherwise it'll end up being finalised at 11pm on 31st January and Coyle will panic and fork out £2m for Clarke Carlisle as a replacement.

I've heard cahill and chelsea can't come to an agreement due to them giving him wages that would make him one of the lowest paid players at the club and cahill isn't happy with it.

I can see someon else coming in and snatching him from chelsea, liverpool maybe?

Cahill is quite within his rights to aks for double what David Luiz is being paid.  After all, he's twice the defender he is.

It won't take them weeks to sort it out.  Chelsea need it done, so they'll either sort it soon or move on.  My money would be on it going through, which means sooner rather than later.

It's not just Bolton who need it done.
