So Kevin Davies was taken off after 56 minutes in the game at Fulham. He hasn't started a game since. Lets face it, he has been utter crap this season. He is 35 in a couple of months time, he is out of contract in the summer, have we seen the last of Kevin Davies as a regular starter? To be honest I think he should no longer be a regular starter, he lacks pace, goals and creativity. I think Tuncay and Ngog offer better different options to him.
I would like to say that Davies has done brilliantly for the club over the last 8 years but he's past it now. Do you think this is the end of Kevin Davies at Bolton?

As to whether we will be a regular starter again this season, who can tell.  Coyle is just switching things around week to week in the hope of finding an effective lineup.  I think Davies will probably be back in the team at some point because we don't look like putting together a string of good results any time soon.

As to his future, it depends if we stay up or go down.  If we stay up I can't see how he'd be much use to us in the Premier League at 35-36.  Maybe he'd stick around as a Blake type figure, although I'd personally love to see him come over to Seattle in MLS and batter a few defenders.

If we go down, I would think we should offer him a one year deal and reduced terms.  He might be able to hack it in the Championship.  Perhaps more importantly, it would provide some stability in what would doubtlessly be a turbulent time.

SKD was a great player for Bolton but sadly he has been useless this season. Given his age I think it would be a mistake to give him a new contract next year when we are in the Championship. If by some miracle, and I do mean miracle, we are still in the Prem it would be complete madness to keep SKD.

I would like to at least give him the opportunity to show some loyalty.  It would be nice to know someone at the club still cares, even if Gartside doesn't.

From a more practical standpoint, we need to at least retain some of our players, otherwise we're going to have a completely empty bench.

I think he will be offered a 12month contract, weather or not he signs it is another story, I do think he will figure again this season, I hope he does find his form and can finish on a high, he deserves it,

I'd guess he's one of the highest paid players at the club. Can we find better? Based on his form this season, it'd be a more difficult job to find someone worse.

Nolan, as in Kevin Nolan? The midfielder (ie not a striker) who is far more likely to be playing Premier League football next year than anyone in a Bolton shirt.

It had crossed my mind. Seems more likely he's just a sandwich short though.

WW have had some new kid doing similar stuff today. Probably some sort of sponsored post thing.

Is there a minimum age limit on these things or will he need parental consent?

If we play anymore games like we did against Newcastle then there is place for SKD.  Cos if we're going to just lump the ball aimlessly up front into the air, then he is a better option than the others.

However, if we're going to see some of this football that Coyle purportedly plays then it's time to say "thanks but goodbye"

I can see KD staying at Bolton, on reduced wages, till he retires.  He just won't be first choice any more.
