I think the club own it in some capacity. Whether it's Eddie Davies or not I don't know. It shouldn't be in any danger if we go down.

To the best of my knowledge, we own it and generate income based on sponsorship. That's why it's called the Reebok Stadium. When they decide to stop sponsoring the stadium, we'll go in search of a new name.

Trouble is, I don't think the "Carrs Pasties" Stadium will have the same ring to it. I can't imagine we would get a sponsor anything like Reebok again. Especially considering we are likely to be in freefall from now on.

Apparently Reebok don't pay us that much for the naming rights. We'll get more money when someone else takes over the name. Fact.

IF

What do you mean IF? If Reebok don't carry on when the current deal runs out somebody else will take over the name. Even if we're in the Championship we'll have companies wanting the stadium named after them. Other teams in the lower leagues do it so what makes you think we couldn't?

I dint think Reebok would want to be associated with failure,so I can see some local company taking over the name. ie it could be "The Northern Rail Stadium" or "The BEN Stadium" I am surprised Gartside as not done it already if he can generate some extra cash.

It was the debt from building the stadium that almost sent us into administration in 2003. Luckily Davies stepped in (no-one else would touch us) so the ownership's all tied up in the debt to him.

The current sponsorship deal runs out in 2016 & is worth £1.2 million a year.

God knows where we'll be then but I reckon we'll have to settle for less money. Especially if our shirt deal with 188bet is anything to go by (£200k a year less than Reebok paid)

I always through Burnden Holdings (or whatever they are called) owned the whole development, or had a large stake in it?

The club's holding company is Burnden Leisure plc & Eddie now owns 95% of it through some private trust in Bermuda. As the complex itself actually loses money god knows what would happen if Eddie popped his clogs.
