I have a dilemma, I don't have a season ticket but have been going to the games as per with a ticket although finances have limited me to about 5 or 6 games this season with 2 of them being away games.  I did not go to the game on boxing day and will not have the money to go to Wolves or Liverpool at home and by then I would not be surprised if we really look doomed.

My question is that given that we are looking like going down anyway and due to money not exactly growing on trees, would it be dis-loyal of me to stop going for the rest of the season just because we look like we are going down even though I could have the money but it would probably be better saving up for a season ticket for next season.

PS. I would probably still go to the Blackburn and Wigan games.

I couldn't really blame anyone for not going at the moment. Why waste money and time watching that shíte?

I'll still be there cos I have a season ticket and no life.

Not disloyal at all. I've got a season ticket too and so far enjoyed watching one game, Stoke. The rest has been dismal shite.

Will go to the Wolves game but not sure if I can be bothered going to some of the games after that when it's back to the roll over and die stuff. Wish I'd not bought a season ticket. Can you sell them back? Doubt it somehow.

I just can't help but think that the club is gearing up for relegation and seeing they have already wrote this season off, why should I bother if they are not bothered.

I'm not one for the whole doom and gloom side of things and can't really comment on your predicament. I have, however, just looked at the Championship table and got quite giddy looking at the prospect of some of the aways next season. Grin

I'd never castigate someone for not going to a game.  If I hadn't already paid for my season ticket I'd not be going to the Wolves game.

I walked out as soon as Ba scored his second.  I was disgusted.

Our manager is clueless and too many players are coasting through games.

BS, I know a 30 year old that gets in on a kids season ticket, which are fifty quid.

Do that, if you can sleep with yourself at night!

I have a season ticket so it would be easy to criticise people for not going but many different circumstances can have an impact on what you do on a Saturday afternoon.

Watching the football costs a hell of a lot of money. Bolton aren't doing well and Sharps has two young children. At the moment, watching BWFC is like throwing money down the drain. You may as well keep your money and have a good time with the family or if you really wanted to get back watching the Whites, save up for a season ticket next year.

I'm a season ticket holder for many years and have just been talking with my mate about possibly not getting one next season but going to all the away games instead. I really don't fancy being sat in a half empty Reebok next year in the fizzy, the atmosphere is bad enough as it is but with only 13-15000 or so on it will be dismal. Apart from local teams there's not that many away grounds that I have been to.

Away days at Blackpool, Leeds, Burnley, Leicester, Derby, Brum, Barnsley, Cardiff, Doncaster, Forrest, Bristol all seem quite appealing and if anyone fancies a good brawl there's always a nice quiet trip to Millwall.

Anyone know approx cost of away tickets in the Championship?

With todays prices I would never criticize anyone for not going to a game.  I got out of the habit a few years ago and after a while you don't miss it half as much but you do wonder how you ever afforded it.

Next year could be interesting (sadly, I doubt it will be successful) so if I were you Sharps I'd start saving now - you'll get more bang for your buck than you will do this season.

Sharps, I would suggest you shoot an e-mail to the club that you're cutting back on your attendance due to the fact that the club has written the season off.  If you just don't show up they won't understand that it's their own damned fault.

I'm pretty lucky over here.  Season tickets are USD 440.00 and that includes the big class A friendly against a team like Manchester United or Barcelona.  And you can pay in 4 installments.

BWFC offered something like that this season for people who bought a full season ticket in the summer. You've always been able to pay in installments but they slapped on a massive interest rate. This year they made installment payments interest free.

I sit in the North Lower and I believe they are the cheapest adult tickets. Off the top of my head, I think it was £285 for the season.

Don't waste your time & money this season, Sharps.

I've a season ticket but not been able to go much for personal reasons. I'll probably go on NYE, but after that I'd rather go watch non-leage for a bit more cash than use my season ticket on fruitless frustrating non-performances at the Reebok.

This season has been the first where I haven't been to most or all the home games in a season. It's probably something to do with the standard of football, but i haven't missed it nearly as much as I thought I would so it might be much easier to give up on than you would think.

I can relate to this.

I love Bolton and love going to see them, but I don't feel the need to dedicate me life to them.

Sometimes you have bigger fish to fry and you have to put things in perspective. I went for a few years were my whole world seemed to revolve around going to the match (working in a job were weekends are the norm and living in London didn't help the logistics). I now realise it's something I like doing rather than have to/feel obliged to do.

In terms of priorities BWFC is quite low down in life really. I'm fortunate (from a fans point of view) that I haven't got any real commitments right now, wife, car, kids, bills to pay etc, so I can afford to pay to go to most of the games. I know there'll come a time in a few years though when I'll be forced to pick and choose. If it's a money reason then it is definitely not disloyal.

You are a Bolton fan Sharps and that remains true whether you are there every game or not. I'll guarantee even if you aren't you'd still at worst be checking how the game is going on either on the radio or Soccer Saturday. Do what you can, that's all that can be asked of you. As my dad has said to me a lot this season, BWFC doesn't care that much about you the individual and they will always be here in some capacity when you want to come back.
