I was a kid during his time at the club, I don't think of him as a legend but it feels a little nostalgic for me to have somebody from that era as our manager.  That and his obvious love for the club and the town is why I back him and choose to look at the players and outside influences as to the reason why we are struggling.

I full agree.

Coyle has been offered 'cult' status (that word may be spelt a bit differently unless he turns things around quickly) on the back of his involvement during what was a golden period in our history after so long of being in the doldrums.

The likes of Mixu, Coyle, Lee, Thommo, McAteer, Branagan, not to mention the obvious Super John and Walker, will always have a special place in our heart.

Had Coyle played for us during a different, less succesful period he'd hav been hounded out a long time ago,
