The rot started when Big Sam resigned or was sacked.We have never recovered and I blame Gartside for that

It started even before that.  It started when Davies and Gartside refused to invest in the team in January 2007 when we were in the Champions League positions.  Allardyce lost interest, results went downhill, Allardyce left, yadda yadda yadda, here we are.

It turned out to be a very costly mistake, considering how much we've spend sacking and re-hiring managers, and how many horrifically inflated transfer fees Megson ended up paying out.

But we didn't have the money then, to take us onto that next level. Allardyce should have been more patient. We can't give what we don't have.

We never had any money, hence the huge debts.  We've borrowed plenty, what's a few more million pounds?

Well, for whatver reason, Eddie wasn't willing to take that risk. You'd have to assume that is the reason. I'm sure if Eddie thought at that time, that they could borrow some money, then he would have given it to Allardyce. I think Allardyce should have respected that, if we weren't to prepared to give the money at that period.

So Gartside refused to invest in the team? He's not the man with money.

And the man with the money could easily blow his entire fortune on us and still not get us anywhere.

We don't have a rich Russian or sheikh in charge you know.
