I only ever find myself on bwfc.co.uk for a single reason which is to check for newly added away ticket information. Apart from that, it serves as much purpose as a chocolate teapot (or Paul Robinson if you like).

The amount of stating of the obvious that is displayed in the site's articles that has supposedly come from the mouths of first team squad members never fails to amaze and frustrate me. This afternoon's top story tells of how Zat Knight thinks 'the time has come for Wanderers to show their battling qualities and fight their way up the Premier League table.' With nine points on the board from 15 games, delighted as I am that the players are apparently under no delusions, its times like these that I crave a read of something BWFC related from which all the bullshit the club want us to think is filtered. Its this need that fanzines once satisfied.

I am a regular viewer of the Manny Road blog, only more than one new article on there per week is a rarity and its not the same as a fanzine which you could read at half time as an alternative to watching two teams of two football fans race one another in human sized plastic balls.

Do you wish there was still fanzines about on matchdays? Did you used to be a regular buyer of one when they were available and if so, which one?

Thanks for reading, and for your answers,

Gloria.

I used to enjoy White Love. It had the right mix of humour and fanaticism. Some good memories.

White Love was good. When I am feeling nostalgic I go up to my loft and flick through some of my back copies.

the media side of the club is pretty poor; i know i've said this before but if you compare it to the american sports it's alarming.

they have daily interviews with the coach, players, highlights from training, uploaded daily onto youtube. Then post game highlights, interviews all on youtube or their own website.

(you'd have to be well sad to want to watch any of that) - no need to say that now.

it'd be nice if the club did a bit more on that side of things IMO.

Having spent time with both Burnley and Bolton's media side of things I know which I believe runs a better operation with more of an emphysis on what the fans want and what their concerns are (although I say this, I know Burnley's media team sometimes take a battering on Clarets Mad...)

There is a lack of connection and understanding between the club/fans, there has been a disconnect for a while now and it to be fair that's not really just from the media side of things but comes from the top. Lack of clarity, lack of communication.

Also think the Bolton News, with whom all of the guys who work there are great imo (RIP Liam Chronnell btw, really shocked and sad to hear about that today), but there seems to be a lack of real produce coming from them RE Bolton.

It almost seems like everything is said to appease the club and keep them onside, very rarely see any proper in-depth insight, critisism etc.

I'm not asking for stupid faux-panorama like reveals like that Manny Road blog are peddling, because I can't quite see who that serves to help at all, but I would like to see a little more beef all round in terms of the media side of things.

It will/has in my opinion reflected in attendances, atmosphere, people becoming disconnected from the club etc. in the long-term.

Club was much more inclusive and homely during the early-mid Allardyce years imo, or maybe that's just nostalgia speaking.

Even little tid-bits like Lee and Holden keeping people informed of their fitness and stuff through videos, it's a clever use of technology and keeps the fans interested. When the players are jumping on this yet the club/newspapers aren't, it's a little disappointing.

Loved White Love, Here We go again, cmon feel the wanderers, Normid Nomad & the very first one from the mid 80s (the name of which escapes me).  They were all great and quite prepared to slag the club off when needed.  Sadly, not got any back copies.
