So much for training for the most vital month in the clubs season so far,

If only Coyle wasn't tee-total he might get rat arsed and go through a drunken revelation, clutching at straws here.

I've never believed in a firm, disciplined working environment but I think its something this team is crying out for.
If Coyle showed some bollocks, and stated the downright obvious that this shower of shite don't deserve a tangerine for Christmas, let alone a party, they might start to work with even a hint of passion.

Thanks for reading,

Gloria.

Good point, the players see him too much as a good guy and a friend rather than a manager IMO.

He has respect but not the kind of respect needed really needed to become a top notch manager who will lay down the law when needed.

players care about one thing... money.

if they were fined every time they kicked a long pass out to touch they'd soon stop doing it.

I really can't believe this. How is this going to solve anything. And Coyle says he cares about Bolton!

Another case of coyle trying to be the good guy and keep the players happy. There probably loving it, were getting tonked every week but our manager thinks were great anyway.

Trouble is, one or two of them might be into that kind of thing. I've always thought Jussi's a slight oddball.

I wouldn't normally begrudge anyone letting their hair down every now and again but the thought of them out on the lash, laughing and boozing sticks in my bloody craw given the current situation.

They should have cancelled the do and given the money to local charities to give their patients/clients a better Christmas, while they concentrated on extra training ....... and I don't mean ping-pong, head-tennis or darts .

They are all pricks for putting us through this trauma, but I think cancelling a Christmas party would just piss them right off and training instead of having fun isn't going to up their spirits. They deserve to be pissed off, because that's what fans are feeling, but I doubt it'd do any good.

Let them be, I don't think punishment works these days, these players could be blackmailed into playing better, like saying we'll not pay you or you're in the reserves if we lose etc, they'd still go and lose, show little effort and embarrass themselves whilst shaming the clubs name.

This is exactly what I said in the other thread about Coyle - far too pally with the players and just a tad too much PR in trying to appease the fans (i.e. all the appearances in Soccer AM and Goals on Sunday) - just seems to be no distinction between players and manager and between manager and PR front-person

Get them back here and train them, NOW!

We have two matches within a week and there they are partying!!!  Pathetic!

Hang on a bit though, we all have, or are about to have a Christmas piss up, so why should it be different for these guys?, ok they might be the biggest shower of sh1t we have seen in the Premier league, but ffs don't have a go for having 1 night of frivolity.

Even Murderers rapists and pedos get a Christmas do, see it as team bonding.

What even when its more than 1 night and not even held in the UK?

If it was for just 1 night and local, and we did not have 2 upcoming games in less than a week, then I would tend to agree Martin.

Why could they not hold the party after Christmas after the new year like many do in the retail, hotel and some other service industries?

@ Gareth - there are many millions of people who are not having a Christmas Party this year because they are either unemployed, their employers have decided not to hold one due to costs or damaging reputations, or many of the retired people.

Well, they're not going to have their Christmas do in Bolton are they? That'd be just silly.

Why not?

Anyway there is always Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and many other places and venues locally speaking.  Which would be cheaper to organise (I assume that the Party is part of the annual budget)

I remember having a Christmas Party, in January - think it was 1998 or 1999, whilst working at Kendals and the Scum were invited - Giggs left with a black eye, thanks to an ardent City supporter, and didn't play for a couple of games due to "illness" ;-)

after (i assume) a fcuking heavy arse night getting absolutely smashed, grabbing a kebab and throwing it all back up in the gutter, the players are giving back to a local charity today.
