Anybody watch Amir Khan lose his world titles last night? I thought he was average and didn't box too well but was a little unlucky to have 2 points taken off for pushing. He did keep pushing and pulling the other fighters head down so he can't complain too much really. Although I've heard he's lodged a complaint about it anyway. I've never really rated him that highly and suspect if he ever stepped in a ring with Mayweather or Pacquiao he'd lose inside two rounds.

I laughed.

Don't like Khan at all, I reckon I could take him.

He's all hype. Talks and looks the part, but lacking when it really matters.

He's crap and i am also glad he lost. I've seen at least 2 of his fights that looked like they had been fixed. The most obvious one being were they went to the adverts and when they came back they said the corner had thrown the towel in. Yeah like you do that at the end of a round, and the guy was probably ahead on points anyway.

That happens quite often in boxing tbh.

Remember Ricky Hatton against Kostya Tszyu?

It was more the feeling of general confusion when they came back from the adverts that made me smell a rat and the fact that the guy (forget the name, was it a scottish guy?) was actually holding his own. Why pull him out if he's doing ok in what must have been one of his biggest ever fights.

I always row about this with a mate of mine and he thinks i'm talking shíte aswell.

I used to like Khan before last night. With his punch speed & being trained by Roach I thought he could end up being a great fighter. Last night he was poor. I knew in the fourth round when he started doing the arms open "You're not hurting me" bravado crap that he was going to lose.

Previously he had been confident without being arrogant & had shown a certain level of humility.
His rant at the end blew all that out of the water. It was pathetic.
I did wonder a couple of times whether Khan could do much else other then push Peterson when he just kept charging forward with his head down but he was clearly warned enough times & is supposed to have the speed & agility to deal with it. For him to keep going on about it & not mention once how well Peterson fought was frankly shameful.

Any boxer knows when fighting in your opponent's home country if its close there's more chance it'll go their way or the ref may favour them slightly so you have to make sure there's no doubt.

Khan boxed terribly & his tactics were as bad as Coyle's.
The rematch will be a belter & Khan will win it but can't say I'm as bothered as he seems to have turned in to a typical big-headed fecker who can't back it up.

I saw the last 3 rounds of the match, as soon as I got home this morning.  Khan looked the weaker of the 2 and also looked tired, especially in the last round.

He deserved to get beat, if anything of the last 3 rounds were a snapshot of the whole contest.

I even believe that No-show Dave could actually beat Khan, at this moment, even if just from behind the keyboard!

I actually feel embarrassed that he is sponsored by Reebok and he is a so-called fans of the Wanderers, there again whats the difference between Khans tactics and Coyle's tactics - none!

Cant understand the animosity towards a fellow Wanderer.  Seems like a nice lad to me and he's a bloody good boxer.  Nowhere near the best but certainly up there in his weight division.

Last night at the end the other bloke looked like he'd been in a car crash and Khan just had 1 or 2 scratches.  Ref was shite but Khans neglect of his defence probably cost him.  He'll win the re-match no worries.

When I see him at Fulham or Wigan or Stoke then I'll see him as a Wanderer.

He goes to the Reebok and did do long before he turned professional.  He wears our badge on his shorts and frequently refers to us in post fight interviews yet you dont consider him as a Wanderer cos he aint pushing in the queue at the Pie counter at Craven Cottage?

I can, he's not white.

Even if was the biggest cock on the planet he would be heralded as a hero if he wasn't Asian.

Squidgy does have a point. He put Bolton on the map as far as World boxing is concerned and always expresses his support for Wanderers. He wore No 10 when he played in Jussi's testimonial.

I sometimes think that some people are jealous of his achievements. They forget the hours and hours of training and the amount of dedication and self-sacrifice it takes to become a world champion.

I saw him at Norwich away a few years back. Does that count?

To be honest I don't give a damn as to what colour, or religion, or whatever a boxer is.  The majority of them are just complete cocks.  Only one who seems more down to earth, than most, is ex-boxer Barry McGuigan.

Boxing is utter guff right now. I'd fancy Mark Davies to take out the majority of current world champions.

If Khan had been born 30 years ago he wouldn't even be a boxer because he'd have been laughed out of the gym.

If you are going to have me cuddle muslims that have a sly drink and dont act like wannabee gangsters then I am all for it.

I have a bit more time for Khan now he is actually fighting people of a decent quality, he did himself a bit of damage when he first came on the scene with his mouth and flying around Bolton in his car like he is Schumacher.

I like the guy he just isn't going to get to a high level IMO.

his defence is poor; even in that fight branded his best performance, he was staggering around a tap away from being out cold.

I dread to think what Mayweather would do to him.

Mayweather would destroy him, I actually like the look of Kel Brook and I am looking forward to his US debut this weekend and Carl Froch against Andre Ward.
