I thought I would do one of my polls so if Gartside reads to see what the fans are thinking he can see in a nice bar graph.

What would you do if Owen Coyle's Bolton future was in your hands?

Get shut now. Our survival depends on it. He isn't good enough to get us out of this. Villa have been crap this season, yet we made them look like Chelsea.

Not good enough. Out.

I don't want to worry people but we have 23 games left and need roughly 31 points from those games and if you consider we will get no points from Chelsea away, Man City away, Man Utd away, Everton away (as we always lose there), Liverpool home and Arsenal home. We need 31 points from the remaining 17 games. We need to average almost 2 points per game from those other 17 games to survive. We cannot afford to stay with Coyle any longer if he is not the man for the job. We need points on the board fast.

Yep, games are flying by, we're bottom of the league, and if we don't act now, we WILL be cut a drift from the rest of the pack; because the rest of the pack, have a little abit of fight about them.

I think we all agree that he has to go now.

Its a shame as he seems a nice chap but he cant save us now.

Time to cut our losses and get shut, for who i dont know.

Ive got a bad feeling though that gartside may keep him no matter what

There is no indication whatsoever that Coyle can pull us out of this.  Time's up.

We can vote on polls and moan all we want, the man in charge believes this is all down to injuries.

so we're out of lucky.

even an outsider can see the problem today was organisation, composure and effort.

A few people on Twitter saying one of the radio stations is reporting it would cost £7million to sack Coyle and the backroom staff.

Stuart Hall reported on the radio today that he had been talking to Eddie Davies who told him it would cost near enough £7 million to pay off Coyle and his backroom teams contracts.

Unless Coyle and his mates do the decent thing and tear up their contracts, then it looks very much like we are stuck with these numpties.

No wonder Mr Gartside is saying Owen is going nowhere!

A business with a multimillion pound turnover run by Muppets!

You've got to laugh really.

But didn't Coyle only sign a two year contract? Why is it that much?

That's rediculous, if it's true.

ust to dispel any wicked rumours. Owen Coyle is still manager of Bolton as we stand. #bwfc #boltonfc

just fan talk. OC said he is determined to stick it out. Gartside too heavily linked to OC fate to pull the trigger easily

Get shut now, although I doubt the present players can keep us up but at least the new guy can start to build for the future. 46 games and some mid week fun for us next season.

Sadly he should go now. I really wanted Owen to turn things around but it's got to the point where I don't think he can. If the club decide to stick with him he'll take us down.

Resign Owen.

Coyle and his backroom staff should have 7 months left on their deal.

So unless they're on a collective 10-12m a year in wages, which can't be true, it suggests that Coyle probably has some sort of severance pay in his contract. If the 7m figure is true, then it's probably something like 4-5M.

There is simply no accountability at this club anymore. I've always been a fan of Gartside but he and the board have let it run amok. The debt levels, the dead wood, the wasted millions, it all falls back at his door. And yet he still picks up his yearly bonus.

£7million to sack Coyle?....fcúk, no wonder he always goes into training with a smile on his face.

I would be the happiest man alive knowing if I made a balls up of my job I would be given that amount if my company decided to sack me.

It's the clubs fault for giving him a ridiculous contract. Gartside is an arsehole, if he was running a "normal" company he'd have been run out of town a long time ago.

Just trawled back through the BA news archive and this is true. Coyle signed a two-and-a-half year contract in January 2010. That means his deal is up at the end of the season.

If we can get away without having to pay him off, I think that's exactly what we will do. Unfortunately, we will be a Championship team by then.

Hopefully Stuart Hall was being his usual self and talking bollocks. How can it cost us £7million to sack him when he's only got 7 months left on his contract? Are him and his staff on £1million a month? I doubt it's true.

I have to agree - we can do what we did to Megson, put him on gardening leave and just pay him each month rather than a big lump sum.
Its sad its come to this but we have to do it and I think Coyle will understand - losing 16 of your last 19 league games is unacceptable. I wish him well for the future - lets just move on and get someone else in. Gus Hiddink is available.

I've defended him for so long but he's shown zero signs that he can turn this round.  We're as good as down now.  Unless there is someone amazing waiting in the wings though, is there anyone better who could take us up from the championship?
