...he being Sean Davis!

Quote
Sean Davis is set to make his return from injury when Bolton's reserves travel to Newcastle United next week.

A succession of serious knee injuries have restricted the former Portsmouth man to just four appearances for the Wanderers.

Injuries have prevented his Bolton career from starting, with his last appearance for the club coming in August 2009, just weeks after joining the club.

Speaking to the club's official website, Trotters boss Owen Coyle admitted he hoped the player would come through some playing action when the second string visit the north east.

"Sean has been doing some training with us, which is great," Coyle said.

"We'll look to see if he and Sam can feature for any period in the reserve game next week.

"It's certainly been a long period and it's been frustrating for Sean. We're delighted he's on the way back and, fingers crossed, everything will go well for him."

It doesn't matter if he's fit or not, though. 24 of our 25 places in the squad have been filled and you must imagine the remaining place will go to Chung-Yong Lee in January.

A place will become free if we take Holden out of the squad but I don't think we'll see Davis in the first team again.

When you're in the position that we're in its incredibly difficult to be excited about the return of a 32 year old thats not played in over two years, and wasn't a particularly inspiring player even before his injury.

Thanks for reading,

Gloria.
