when you hear your fellow Bolton fans laughing in the face of human tragedy - referring to Manchester United associates as "Munichs", and singing what has sadly become known as "The Runway Song", with the actions too?
In all fairness, when people have grown up in an environment where its OK to behave that way, its understandable that they've never given why its bad enough thought - but here is their chance!
I only mention it as this board sees more shameless anti-"munich" comments go unchallenged than any others I've viewed. I'm probably not the first person to start this debate, in which case I apologise.
Thanks for reading, for your deep thinking on the matter, and for your answers too,
Gloria.

I sing the songs, I did use to do the aeroplane although now you can apparently get arrested for it which is pathetic but the pigs need to justify being there.

I read a comment from a United fan on Twitter a while back that slammed the Bolton fans who refer to them as 'Munich'.
The point they were trying to get across is a small section of our fans like to call them that, yet it's the same minority that probably don't even know we had a disaster of our own.
The Munich crash happened way before my time so I'm not too bothered what people's opinions are, but if something similar happened to our club I think the Munich branding would soon stop.

The red scouse vemin stopped singing Munich after Hillsborough, when we go to OT it's usually the red scum who start the Munich songs off, same as we sing wanky wanky wanderers. I don't think there is as much venom in the munich chants now as not too many sing them. IMO

Call them scum as they are and always have been (long before the Munich air disaster), as according to texts I have read, and will forever be scum
But calling them Munichs - odd occassion, as a slip of the tongue, but try not to.
Sing the runway song - never.
anything else to do with the disaster - never.

Used to sing it and do the aeroplane. Used to refer to them as Munichs.
It happened years before I was born so I never saw it as a big deal. As the years have gone by I haven't bothered. I suppose thats as much to do with getting older as with all the bleating they did about it making it so socially unacceptable these days.

I think it is unfortunate that I have been calling them Munichs, and will make an effort to stop doing so. It does, on reflection, belittle what was a terrible tragedy. I will only refer to them as dirty scum bastards in future, if that is acceptable.

A thread on Burnden Aces makes you reflect your actions?

A thread on Burnden Aces made me start to refer to the dirty scum bastards by that unfortunate name. All experiences can be ones that make you grow as person - unless of course you die as a result of it. Why shouldn't a thread be able to make you reflect?

Did you not know what everybody was talking about when they referred to them as Munichs?

It depends who I am speaking to tbh.
I like calling Munichs Munichs as it winds them up a treat (and I feel absolute no remorse for doing so).
If I am talking to a Bolton fan I may call them scum.
Anyone else I generally call them Man U, because that's what they are called.

I think what happened in munich was very bad and i would never with death on anyone (even scum fans) ...maiming maybe, but not death I have at times, on rare occasions joined in with Munich chants, not because i think its funny what happened but when your at OT away and you have 5/6,000 glory hunters from kent giving it the big one you have to do something to pi$$ them off...Munich generally works. i justify it by saying they would do the same to us and because, well....they are dirty manc scum anyway.
