What is particularly worrying about this case is that if it was four white girls involved in the attack, it is highly likely that the court result would have included custodial sentences.
The CPS should appeal against the leniency of the sentence ( which they are entitled to do ).
Thing is, if it was four white guys attacking two white guys, none of whom had a previous conviction, then a suspended sentence would have been accepted by all.
How many fights occur in Britain over the course of a weekend? How many create such moral panic? Just because "allegedly" it was a racist attack the Daily Fail went with this as they do.
Things like this really really annoy me, how they have got away with it and be able to walk free is just unbelievable..
It annoys me even more when you read the article and just because they ‘not used to being drunk’ because of their religion, what kind of pathetic exuse is that. The fact the judge even thought it was a reasonable exuse makes it even worse.
Nowhere does it say the judge thought that was a reasonable excuse. Yes, the article does lead you to believe that, but anyone with half a brain can see it's just the Fail being the Fail.
I read that again and I still am in disbelief at the outcome.
Drink or not, the terminology and level of violence proved they were no angels. I doubt they would have got custodials, but they should have at least have received some level of punishment.
They did, they each got a 6 months suspended sentence.
