The majority of you will probably be aware that Burnden Aces is soon to undergo some major changes, what you won't be aware of is the fact manny has asked Sluffy and Danny to step down as moderators of this site.

Danny is young and will soon get over it and find something else to do with his life but what about sluffy? I'm not sure he can rebuild his life if he's let go.

In my opinion this is a huge mistake. Sluffy is Mr Burnden Aces, he's known across the forum world as our figurehead. He is the voice of reason, the one who defuses the fights between Sharps and Amos, the one who knows where the line is and does everything to defend it.

I'm asking you to get behind my campaign to keep sluffy as moderator of BA, we need to unite as a group and tell manny this is simply not acceptable.

Are you with me?

Thank you but it is Manny's site and Manny want's to do things differently - which he is absolutely entitled to do - so good luck to him and I hope everything is successful for him.

I do think though that my presence around the boards may confuse things a little bit so although I will continue to view BA, I will post significantly less from now on - I'm sure one or two will see that as a blessing!

I'm a little disappointed this has become public knowledge so quickly so I will explain my reasons.

I recently started my own business so I'm spending a lot more of my time at home on the computer. As part of the business, I will have to take care of the daily running and maintenance of multiple websites.

When the new look BA launches in the New Year, the running of the site will become a hell of a lot quicker and easier for me so I want to see if I can handle the running of this place before I begin to work across multiple sites. We're only averaging 100-150 posts a day at the moment so I see this as a good time to begin.

I have explained to the moderators that this is very much a trial and they are not being 'sacked'. If things do not work out for me, I will happily accept my mistake in judgement and invite them back, should they wish to do so. Just because they will soon be relinquished of their moderating powers, I hope they still continue to post as both have been around since we launched in 2007.

I would also like to say thank you to Sluffy and Danny on the public board because I've had a rough time personally over the last 2/3 years and they have helped to keep the place afloat when I've not had the chance to be around.

They could have walked away at any time and probably should have done with some of the abuse they get at times, but to their credit, they stuck around and helped make this site the success it is today.

Sluffy has been a great moderator on here. Got abuse when it wasn't needed, kept the site moving along, and knew exactly where to draw the line.

All the best mate and thanks for all you've done.

Get a grip it is a fcuking football website.

I back Manny and look forward to posting on here without having half my posts removed or being accused of this and that.  I can see a few people coming back to contribute now Ze Fuhrers reign of terror has ended.

All hail our new leader Manny.

Well iirc, the last three posts I removed that you had posted - to three separate people - were.

1 - "Fu ck off you cu nt"
2 - "Wanker"

and

3 - "Piss off wanker"

But post whatever you want from now on because I no longer care.

Then again, if Manny bans Dave, Sharps and whoever Amos is posting as at the minute, Sluffy wouldn't have anything to moderate anyway.

Personally speaking I do think that letting Sluffy go is, indeed, a big mistake and as Martin says, Sluffy has been, and will, in all honesty, be the voice of reason on this forum.

I would like to, publicly, thank Sluffy for being a fantastic moderator.  Although we may not have seen eye to eye quite a few times and my so-called humour may have fallen flat on more than 99% of occassions - I do persoanlly feel he has had the best heart at hand in keeping the site the way it has been kept.

If I have ever offended him, which I hope I haven't, in any way whatsoever then I do sincerely apologise, as that has never been my own agenda.

And finally when I come back from my self-exile of a vacation in Bolton (19/12 - 8/1), and the new look forum is up and running I hope the high standard of modding is kept up by the forum owner, Manny, and I wish him all the best of luck - and I also apologise to Manny for any conflict in the past as well (publicly speaking) and  see this as not only a new start for the forum but also for past, present and future  posters.

I just hope dropping sluffy will not be a big mistake - remember this site does have its standards ;-)

Thanks for reading and good luck to all involved in the shake up, for what the future may hold

Chris Amos/TGoB/Psammead/Bangerhard

I like posting on this board as much as I enjoy running it so I'm happy to join in the conversations.

Just because I'll be running this place solo doesn't mean the standard of moderating will decrease. If there is something I don't like the look or sound of, it will go. If you break the rules enough times to warrant a ban, you will go.

I, personally, have reservations about any forum moderated by one single individual.

This is the bit that confuses me! Never, Never, Never get rid of loyal intelligent staff. They were there when you needed them. What happens if it doesn't work out for you and you ask them back and they decline the offer ? ( I know I would! )

If you are running it on your own I can see problems ahead. Most posters are sensible but one or two like to see how far they can push the envelope in your absence.

I wouldn't put it past Harpic ( Big Shrap ) to start flexing his muscles now that he knows Sluffy will no longer have his beady eye on him.

At the end of the day it is your choice but good mods are hard to find, as you will discover if you decide to go it alone.

Sluffy has upset a number of people on here, far more than I have so I would not be surprised to see a fair few come back.

Some of the above comments are embarrassing,  this is a football forum.
