His side has lost 11 of their 14 league games this term — and their final five in a row at the end of last season, too.

But boss Coyle insisted: "I love this football club and I want to put a smile on people's faces.

"As a manager the responsibility is magnified hundred-fold. You are not only responsible for a team but a club and a town. That's something I don't take lightly.

"I know things have conspired against us but we have to come through that.

"You need character, resilience and desire to go on that pitch and do something about it."

Have things really conspired against us? All things considered, injuries, suspensions, red cards, losing streaks... It has been down to our own doing as much as anything. I wish Coyle would just say "we have performed badly so far and it is not acceptable. This needs fixing now."

If he is in the dressing room filling the players with the same rubbish then no wonder they are not performing. Imagine him telling them all, after yet another atrocious display, "lads you were unlucky today - things were against us again, lets hope things are not conspiring against us next week"...

So no wonder he turns out with the same team selection and same tactics every week. He thinks the team and tactics are ok it's other things that have gone wrong. Get real Coyle and get it sorted NOW!

You can't help believing theres someone up there that doesn't like Bolton Wanderers.

What Coyle doesn't realise is he still very much holds the key. He still has players at his disposal that are capable of keeping the club in the Premier League - or Barclays Premier League if he likes. For whatever reason, he's obviously reluctant to even give them a fair chance. Sticking with the old bunch that he knows best seems to be a more attractive idea than giving new players a decent opportunity.

One thing I would question mind is the measures the club takes to prevent injuries. I know under Allardyce the club was very well equipped in this respect. I seem to remember him taking a swipe at Souness for forever complaining about his "bad luck" with injuries at Newcastle, boasting that Bolton put a lot of focus into stopping injuries before they happen, claiming that thats the way forward. Are we unlucky, just behind with the times or a bit of both?

Thanks for reading,

Gloria.

Well when it comes down to it, those injuries arent particularly our or Coyle or the player's faults.

We've been unlucky with long-term injuries to two of our best players.  That's really the only way in which things have "conspired against us."  The red cards have largely been fair (and moronic).  I can't think of a loss that we didn't deserve.

Injury wise I can see the logic in that.
If a player gets a broken leg due to a bad challenge that is probably something you can't prevent. But in terms of tweaks and niggles and repetition/build up injuries they can be influenced by the correct training and rehabilitation methods. Aside from things I have read and studies I have seen I count my own experience as to why I feel this is true. There are always variables but correct warm up and stretches make a difference in themselves - add to that all of the expertise that would be available to a Premier League club and there should be huge differences and reductions in injuries.

I don't believe there was much Coyle could have done to prevent Lee's broken leg or Holden's knee problem.  His job was to find a way to reduce the impact of that loss.

But the Holden relapse could have been prevented - maybe?

And all the other niggles could be kept on top of. Even half of our subs are on the bench not fully fit.

He could have not played Lee against a pub side, for starters.
