Dermot Gallagher was on SSN earlier saying it was the wrong decision. Hopefully Cahill will get away with it.
I've got a feeling he won't.

I don’t think it’s going to succeed. It was a harsh call, no doubt, but the FA will not undermine Attwell by overturning a call like that, because it will call attention to the ludicrously lax refereeing standards.

Graham Poll said "it met none of the criteria for a sending off." Why cant ex premiership referee's sit on this panel,Thinking about it maybe not,if Riley or Knight was on it, we would have no chance.

I think both Poll and Gallagher should be reinstated as referees, as it is quite obvious, that the current bunch of "referees", aren't quite up to it.

Isn't Riley one of the bosses or something for referees? That can't be good for us. I think both Poll and Gallagher should be reinstated as referees, as it is quite obvious, that the current bunch of "referees", aren't quite up to it.
They were just as bad as the current refs. Poll was terrible.

I hope he doesn't get off. Cahill has been bobbins, I'd like to see if Knight/Wheater can do better.

Yep the grey haired fcuking cheating bastard of a referee is the head of the referees - and ever since he got the post I have noticed the standard has gone downhill quicker than a downing a pint and we have had more decisions going against us than at any other time since we have been in the Premiership. That git hates us. (and it has never evened itself out by the end of the season!) If he was supposedly the best England had, then we should be ashamed - he was even sent back home from the last Euros in disgrace because he was the worst of all the referees during that competiton!!!

Riley was at one of them and was sent home after the initial rounds - whether it was Euros or World Cup, ain't that bothered but I do know he was sent home in disgrace, due to his incompetence (although Poll was an embarrassement at dishing out 3 yellows to same player in same game!)

Looks like we'll have to wait until January to see that parnership. Wheater still has 3 matches to go on his ban. When Cahill got his blood clot a couple of years ago, Ricketts and Knight was the defensive partnership and we kept 5 clean sheets in 11 games so it's not the end of the world if the ban doesn't get lifted.

Yep. What Sharps said. Would usually be a 3 match ban but because it was his second straight red of the season, the ban increases to 4.

Common sense prevails, but it can't put right the fact we had to play 70 minutes at one of the in form sides in the league with only 10 men. It might not have made any difference to the result but you never know.
Hopefully Atwell will face action and be removed from the PL list until he stops making cock ups like that.

Good on them for overturning them. Sick of politics playing such a large roll in hierarchical decisions.

Well done. Justice prevails. For once.
Atwell also sent off Cahill at the Emirates for nothing imho. He also awarded a goal that never went in the net at Reading. He was the ref during that Sunderland (I think it was) game where Liverpool scored a goal from a Sunderland defensive free kick. Amongst others. Atwell was "fast tracked" by the FA to encourage younger refs. It seems that the years of inexperience could be showing. These mistakes should be being made in the conference still in reality.

Atwell also made an East Midlands derby (Forest v Derby) descend into farce.

Riley as always hated us for some reason I remember him for: 1:Sending off, I think, Holdsworth and Warhurst before half time against Leicester(Robbie Savage) 2: Wrongful award of pen at Cardiff in Carling Cup final against Middlesbrough, lost us the game 3: Trained up Barry Knight and we all know about him Re Ipswich play off semi final I am sure there are more, but cant just think at present
