Probably not.
But to mention a guy who has been injured 99% of his time with us as someone who would be a starter is laughable. Sam Ricketts was being mentioned as our saviour last week. I thought that was funny. Sean Davis is even better.
I didn't I said perhaps, maybe he can do the buisness who knows,

Sean Davis has never been a great player. He's had a decent career but never been amazing. You saying he's one of only 3 potential starters we have after he hasn't played for 2 years is laughable Gareth.

Within the first 10 minutes I'd counted several occasions on which the ball was simply booted up to the sack of potatoes that is Davies.
If Coyle cannot grasp that this methodology not only doesn't create chances as its intented to do, it also puts the team at risk from a defensive point of view in that its just constantly feeding the ball back to the opposition, then its a criminal case of tactical ineptness.
Thanks for reading,
Gloria.

Dave, The comment was made about our injured players, and then only perhaps, so when fully fit do you think he deserves a chance? How many of the present squad can you say are or have been amazing? Jussi but thats it.

Thats why Jussi never throws the ball out to the wings, he is looking for 'that sack of potatoes' every time he has the ball (most of the time he is picking it from the back of the net though)

I just don't think after being out for 2 years he's going to make much of an impact. I doubt we'll ever see him in the first team again tbh. Hopefully I'm wrong and he turns out to be the saviour.

I agree there is too much long ball, but you could have Messi up there and it wouldn't make any difference - too many players in the squad can't hold onto the ball for more than 2 seconds, and virtually none of them can pass. Shocking considering this is supposed to be our top professional league.

Am I the only one to think we do have a half decent team if everyone is fit? I know Holden and Chung Yung Lee are out long term which is a real shame as they are probably our best two players (along with Cahill). But I think we have a lot of options in every position. I just don't think Coyle is getting anything out of them due to his management skills. I think if we had a good manager who was tactically sound and got the team playing we'd be flying up the league. If people think the squad isn't good enough and we are going to go down anyway then why sack Coyle? What is a change of manager going to do if you think the players are just not good enough? Are you saying that Coyle is getting the most out of these players? I think if Big Sam was manager we'd easily have 20 points by now.
I agree with you. Fully fit & playing at their best I think we have a better overall squad than 4 or 5 other teams. A team should always be greater than the sum of its parts (look at Norwich/Swansea so far). This is down to the manager's selection, tactics & motivational skills & is unfortunately where Coyle is failing so miserably.
