So can we get a result? And will we? Two very different questions. And if we can, what is our best bet?

Nope. Robinson will be left back. Mark Davies will be right wing, presumably against Bale; which essentially means that our 7th choice right back will have too much to handle on their own. Knight will have a torried time against Defoe & Co.

What would you do with the sorry bunch we have to choose from?

I think Coyle will try 4-5-1 as he did against Arsenal and it will be enough to prevent a hammering, but there still won't be enough quality on our side to get us anything.

Thanks for reading,

Gloria.

Robbo will get fucked on the right hand side by Lennon and Steinsson will get taught a lesson by Bale.

It will be a very long afternoon.

Well, I think our biggest concern is full back. So, I'd say play Gardner left back. I'd play Steinsson right back (not that we have much choice!), then with a defensive minded players just in front of him, to protect him against Bale (?). Someone like Pratley even.

We concede so many goals from crosses it is unreal, and Spurs love their crosses, so we need to keep the full back area nice and protected.

Gardner should be able to compete with Lennon (?) and we all know Eagles will track back and help out.

I'd actually play Muamba and Reo Coker in midfield for this one. Mark Davies in there too as the more attack minded midfielder; with N'gog up top on his own. (I rate Klasnic but I think the ball will just keep coming back to us, if he is up there on his own. N'gog will push there defenders ALL the way, so Tottenham won't press as high as they would, for the fear of N'gog'secko pace.

There! I reckon we could snatch a draw with that team!

I think I would pick out their two most dangerous/creative or prolific players and choose to mark them out of the game where ever possible. Forget attacking for the moment. It's not worked all season (having a cavalier attitude) and it won't work at Spurs.

The defence would have to be solid, and I am sorry but yes, I would put Bogdan in. He keeps possession better than Jussi and I think that is going to count against them lot. Plus we can't have them taking shots at Jussi from all over the place and risk him dropping to his knees all the time.

Depends who is fit for who I would pick, is Gardener back? If so it's him on left wing duty and Robinson on full back duty. Gardner can make up for Robinson's pace and would be made to play from a defensive mindset and Robinson would be there to make a tackle after Gardner has hassled and harried.
On the right side I would have to go for Steinsson and Eagles - not the strongest pair in the world but I would have them  working as a team within a team with the simple job of doing nothing other than stopping all attacks on that side.

Muamba would be the man marker just in front of the back four. And in front of him would be NRC and Mavies. I didn't want to say Mavies at first but to be honest we have to balance our defensive mentality with a player who can put a foot on the ball and drive us forward or at least keep the ball for a few moments while we regroup or even build an attack on the wings.

And up front would be O'Halleran. Don't aske me why. Klasnic would be my other choice if Ohalleran is not favoured by anyone else.

Even if we did do that successfully, we'd still have two out of Bale, Modric, Adebayor or vdV to contend with.
Painful to think last time we were battling relegation Spurs were near the bottom too.  If only we signed Bentley for £17mil.

Where is Bentley now ? You never hear of him. He was a decent player at Blackburn but when he got to Spurs he became a Big Time Charlie. He might be able to kick a ball but he was absolutely fcuking hopeless at driving a car.

At West Aym with Sam before he got injured.  Can't say I've ever been in a car with him though.

If the match was at home, I'd like to believe that we'd get something, but certainly not at their place. It can get quite loud down there and they get behind Spurs, whilst we won't take that many fans, not that would matter anyway, as our defending has been shocking this season.

Bogdan again?....You do surprise me.

Also why would we drop our most prolific goal scorer for someone who has never been tested at premier league level, at a team like Spurs especially.

Gardner is injured or I would say put him at left back, swap Mavies with Eagles position and other than that it would probably be coyles preferred 4-5-1.

Why this obsession with Gardner? Firstly he is injured at the moment and secondly even if he were not already injured he is incapable of lasting 90 minutes without picking up another injury. Was an excellent player for us but now he's as much use as SKD or a chocolate teapot.

Yes he still has some pace but his distribution is worse than Robinson's.

This will be our biggest Premier League defeat. 7-0 Spurs.

However, a thrashing should ensure Mr Coyle is packing his fanny bags by Sunday evening.

I don't think he would get sacked even if we do lose on Saturday.....unfortunatley.
