Believe it or not it's that time of year again! Voting will start in a couple of weeks.

To stop you all voting for Tamir Cohen I set some guidelines last year about how players would be eligible for the voting.

Players must have been at the club since the start of the season and made more than 20 starts in all competitions as of 1st April. With no more games before the end of the month, the list has been compiled and you will be able to select from the following:

  • Andy O'Brien
  • Fabrice Muamba
  • Gary Cahill
  • Gavin McCann
  • Gretar Steinsson
  • Jlloyd Samuel
  • Johan Elmander
  • Jussi Jaaskelainen
  • Kevin Davies (2007/08 Winner)
  • Matt Taylor

You will be able to vote as many time as you want, but please be honest and do it just once. I'll bump this topic when voting is open and the winner will be announced at the end of the season.

This is my first year doing the PotY so do we just pick a 1st place? or do we have a top 3?

There will be a poll where you just select one of the ten. No limit on how many times you can vote but like I said, be honest and just do it once.

Full results will be posted at the end of the season.

Hmmm - I might just have a cheeky bet on Andy O'Brien winning this!

I'm down to three and I'm 99% sure my three would be the same!

When I say you can vote more than once, your IP addresses are logged when you vote, so any silly voting won't count! So please don't vote for Andy O'Brien 500 times!  Cool

I'm almost certain that everyone will vote for the same top 3, and I think if there was a 'most improved' category that would eliminate one of the choices!

Please read the rules!  Cool

I'm banning people from voting for Shittu and Nolan! Vote for Samuel instead!  Roll Eyes

Cant believe Makakula didnt make the list, i mean a player of his quality surely deserves a little bending of the rules? And no Riga either?! Call it a player of the year.... Wink

Being serious though im torn between two players so ill just wait and see which one finish the season better.

The voting is now open. You can find the poll on the home page and the news pages. The poll will NOT be posted on the forums, but it is easy enough to find on the site.

Cheers Manny I have just made my vote! I was torn between a few but I could not ignore who I have given it to!

Do we announce it on here and mention why we voted for them or do we leave it anomynous?

You don't have to leave it anonymous. It's entirely up to you.

For people who can't find the article for voting, the link below will direct you:

I've had a couple of emails from people asking about Ricardo Gardner. Whilst I agree he has had a good season, he hasn't made enough starts to be considered.

Well I went for Kevin Davies! I had Steinsson, Cahill & Taylor very very close behind but you cannot shy away from the fact he has scored 12goals this and and can still grab a few more.

I would love it if he got to 15goals or grabbed more than Anelka! Well done Kev

Not too surprised to be honest! Kev has had a great season - a shame he couldnt finish with 15 goals this year! He only had to get 3 from his last 8 but maybe I am being a little picky.

Cannot believe Elmander finished above my mate Steinsson! Justice has not been done Tongue
