I would like to think it was nearer to 8 and 10k but I probably am being a little hopeful.
I like your optismism but I doubt it. What were our attendances in the championship at the Reebok? And that's certainly not as low as we could've gone I remember being at a night match once at Burnden (I think it was against Port Vale) and there couldn't have been more than 3 1/2 thousand on. In Bestiktas I think there was about 300 of us, Macedonia, approx. 500 and the same for Belgrade.

DP, I believe, is more accurate. Just imagine how many fans we had in Div 4 and that is probably around the more accurate figure.
Just as an example, In the 88/89 season we were in the old Division 3. Our biggest crowd at Burnden that season was 10,281 when we played Preston. Our lowest was 4,178 when we played Swansea. There is no way you are going to see those kind of attendances in Kendal.

Fair play hjd - I wasn't going to mention that just yet, as I wanted to see how Natasha's vision for Kendal/Cumbria would play out!
15 million for a new 40,000 seater ground just to hold less number of customers than at present! Very economic sense! I can now see why Phil Gartside think that Natasha is a visionary!!!
I have thought this through properly, I've done all the research. We sell The Reebok for £50m, apparently Aldi and Lidl would both be very interested at that price. A new ground on the outskirts of Kendal would cost in the region of £45m to build, the local council is keen for Bolton to relocate there so there would be no problem with planning permission. There would be the usual facilities aimed at the local community to bring in extra revenue, namely a pond for the fishermen and a large enclosed area for hunting. Dutchy, you are typical of the average Bolton fan - scared of change. I don't actually know why it bothers you so much as we'll probably build a small airport near the ground so it'll actually be easier for you to pretend to go to games.

This new, high profile, jetsetting job that Amos took on after being fired from toilet duties must really keep him busy. He's been on here 24/7 since then.
I quite like Sharps name for our new stadium and tend to agree our core support numbers change. Blackpool 10 years ago had a different core support then to what they have now after a year in the Prem. 10k seems reasonable for us although obviously not brilliant when you look at places like Derby and Norwich. I appreciate the geographical advantages those two clubs have.

Taken from the BBC website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15788028.stmCarlisle United have revealed plans to move from their Brunton Park home to a new stadium at Kingmoor in the north of the city.
The plans that would see a new 12,000 all-seater stadium built, ending a 102-year stay at their present home, were revealed to shareholders on Thursday.
Funding for the venue and surrounding buildings under the proposals would come from a development partner.
In addition, the new stadium would have office and training facilities.
The news comes just days after Bolton Wanderers Chairman Phil Gartside announced a feasibility study into relocating the Premier League club to a site just outside Kendal, after continued lobbying from celebrity supporter Natasha Whittam.
Carlisle Chairman John Dixon said "This move north is vital to the long term future of Carlisle United Football Club. For years we have lived in fear of a larger club realising the potential of the Cumbrian region. I have little doubt Bolton Wanderers will soon be building a magnificent 40,000 all seater stadium in Kendal, the further north we can get from this new stadium the better for Carlisle United."

I have thought this through properly, I've done all the research.
We sell The Reebok for £50m, apparently Aldi and Lidl would both be very interested at that price. Hmmm I know for a fact that neither Aldi, nor Lidl - which are actually both started by the Albrecht family - would never pay such a premium for land on Middlebrook - firstly they would have to get permission of the Land-owners The Emerson Group to knock down and build there, and the planning permission from Horwich councillors and then Bolton Council - far too costly for a low-cost supermarket, plus there would be too much competition with Asda, Tesco and M&S already having a presence on the retail park. Aldi and Lidli go for cheap brown sites where there is not much funding and planning required - cheaper it is the more money for the family! A new ground on the outskirts of Kendal would cost in the region of £45m to build, the local council is keen for Bolton to relocate there so there would be no problem with planning permission.
1. There are problems with planning permission as Kendal is bang in the centre of a conservation zone and greenbelt land and any new build is strictly scrutinised by the local council and by the government, plus any new build has to be in the same style as the current buildings within the area, plus Kendal does not have much land either in town or on the outskirts to build such a stadium without touching greenbelt land which is very very very difficult to get planning permission for. 2. Another obstacle would be transport - there are no motorways no trunk roads and no roads big enough to take such footballing traffic. 3. Then there is policing and the Cumbrian Constabulary is one of the smallest in the UK, in deep financial trouble - even talks of merging with Northumbrian police force or even the Lancastrian Constabulary - and as such may not have the manpower to police such events on a very regular basis 4. I am sure that even our benefactor, ED, does not have the funds to completely move the team and actually build a new stadium - yes he may be rich but he ploughs more or less his whole resources into HIS club. Advertisers would definitely shy away, and even the number of Corporates would not want the move as Kendal is actually in the middle of nowhere - the club would lose money, rather than garner - It would be the final death-nail in the clubs coffin and probably bankrupt ED at the same time!!! Dutchy, you are typical of the average Bolton fan - scared of change. I don't actually know why it bothers you so much as we'll probably build a small airport near the ground so it'll actually be easier for you to pretend to go to games.
Not frightened of change, I like challenges that changes bring, but that is a change that would never happen, and even with your so-called powers of perception you know it would never happen. The market is not there, the land is not there, the money is not there, the advertisers are not there, the sponsorship is not there, the Corporates are not there. Plus any first sign of any back-handers in any of it would be damaging for the club, the game and PG & ED who are in it for the games (as fans) and to try to make money from it - not lose money. So which lake would have to be filled in to build this so-called airport - again another pathetic idea that would never happen due to conservation concerns!

and the full story is (taken from the exact same website as Natasha's!!!) Carlisle United have revealed plans to move from their Brunton Park home to a new stadium at Kingmoor in the north of the city. The plans that would see a new 12,000 all-seater stadium built, ending a 102-year stay at their present home, were revealed to shareholders on Thursday. Funding for the venue and surrounding buildings under the proposals would come from a development partner. In addition, the new stadium would have office and training facilities. A feasibility study found that the club's current site was a costly and unsuitable option for redevelopment. Kingmoor Park was recommended by the study from 17 potential sites. "Everyone was very happy with the proposal," CUFC Online independent website editor Tim Graham told BBC Radio Cumbria, having attended the meeting. "From what the board were saying and the feasibity study, everyone in the meeting was for it. The Cumbrians' existing ground meets the criteria set by the Football League to play in the bottom two tiers, but would not be suitable under regulations beyond that for the Championship. "Football League regulations, released in 2009, stipulated minimum ground standards which we are currently struggling to meet within Brunton Park," chairman John Nixon said within the statement. "The board would be doing a disservice to the fans if we didn't look into the future options for the club and report back to them for their input." Carlisle's next step is to present the findings and results of the study to supporters, which will take place on 24 November. Funny how there is no mention whatsoever of Phil Gartside, Bolton or even you in the sport report. Now how faked the story? My suspicion is that it was you, - how pathetic Why not admit it and say sorry to all concerned!

I don't find the Premiership boring at all but I do think supporting a club like Bolton, Sunderland, Fulham, Wigan, Blackburn, etc is boring. Its just crap. What is there to get excited about any more? Like Nat says, the 80s and 90s were so exciting. I used to love it when we were in the lower leagues signing unknown players like McGinlay, David Lee, Alan Thompson or youngsters like McAteer and seeing them be club legends. I used to love the FA cup and games like Lincoln away in the cup were exciting, games like playing away at Exeter on a tuesday night was fun. Games like Southampton in the FA cup replay and Julian Darby scored a last minute goal which looked to be the winner only for Barry Horne to score a goal from 40 yards. I loved the promotion campaigns. I love playing the big teams in the cup - how come we used to win at Liverpool and Arsenal when we were in the lower leagues but now with a supposedly far better squad we get battered by them? I used to love it when we signed highly rated players like Nathan Blake, Sasa Curcic, etc.
I am bored shitless of following Bolton right now. I am bored shitless of losing game after game after game. I bored shitless of nothing to get excited about, nothing to aim for. I am bored shitless of Kevin Davies. Supporting a football team should be exciting and fun with ups and downs. What is the bloody point of supporting a club like Bolton any more? It is not the clubs fault but things are shite right now.

same here - the excitement of what could possibly happen - always very optimistic of a win before the game begins. you never know whats going to happen on match-day itself. Sure enough certain games of late have been very disappointing, but that is definite part and parcel of football. The light is always at the end of the tunnel, no matter how long that tunnel is, as good times always follow bad times.

I used to love going to the games, christ I even looked forward to games under Sammy lee and megson at first. Under coyle I have only felt like that when he first took over, at the moment I like going but with recent results I just get pissed off with watching the exact same boring football that was served up by megson.
