It's crap following Bolton Wanderers. Little passion, mid table the best we can ever hope for, a team full of overpaid ponces that don’t give a shite about the white shirt and a manager who resembles a pop up puppet.
I watched the FA Cup at the weekend with pure jealousy. What was I jealous of? Fans of teams like Hinkley, Tamworth, Totton, Stourbridge etc. That's what real football is about. Real grounds, real players and most of all real fans with real hope that one day, in their lifetime, they will reach the big time.
We've reached the big time and it stinks. Never has football been so predictable and devoid of passion. The journey to the big time is a hundred times more enjoyable, I feel sorry for fans that weren't around to see our rise up the leagues in the 1990's.
Did you see those Tamworth fans on Saturday? Literally dancing for joy in the stands. It brought a tear to my eye. I would swap everything the Premier League brings to be in their position.
How much longer can we put up with this drivel called the Premier League? Sky have hyped it up so much people actually believe it’s the most entertaining league in the world. In truth, it’s like watching paint dry on a freezing day.
I know you all agree with me, together we need to come up with a solution before we all die of boredom. Can you, hand on heart, say you actually enjoy watching football these days?

We probably won't have to for too much longer. Will you be happy then?

I won't be happy when it happens in May, but by August I'll be quite pleased to be in the Championship. At least the ambition will be to win the league rather than just survive.

Like I said, I'll be pissed if we go down because it shouldn't happen. But the upside is at least we'll have a traget that involves winning something. Surely you're bored of just surviving?

We're not going to do a 'Leeds', so I wouldn't get too carried away with what would happen should we be relegated.

Who knows what would happen. We might win the league by 18 points and score 100 league goals.
Or we could go down again and not return for 15 years.
If ever.

This is a tough one to answer and I don't think there is an easy solution.Football has changed out of all recognition these last twenty years,so I don't think its entirely due to the fact that Bolton have had it tough these last few seasons, though obviously that wont help.Personally speaking the match going experience is not what it was,the connection between fans and players is further apart than its ever been and the clubs just view us supporters as customers. So what do you do? Form another club like Man U or Liverpool? Maybe, but I'm not sure I could easily switch my allegiance that easily after supporting my club all my life through all its ups and downs. So for the time being I will carry on until either I can no longer afford too or till I get thouroughly dejected by it all

But that's the beauty of not being in the Premiership - it could go either way. It could go two ways in the Premier League I guess: relegation or 17th. Brill.

But there will come a time when you realise the club is just using you, they give nothing back. Every Prem team should form their own non-league club - I bet FC Bolton would be higher up than BWFC within 15 years. 10 if Coyle is still in charge.

Whats annoying about being a PL team for us is that Bolton Wanderers are one of the clubs that your snobby supporters want out of the league ASAP to make way for the "proper" clubs like Leeds and West Ham and Nottingham Forest and the Sheffield Clubs. So we often don't get the respect and attention that we deserve from the media. The most attention we've been paid in 11 years was for our hatred of Gary Megson.
That said, we're making massive yearly losses even with the money that being a PL club brings. So dropping down a division would mean having to make huge changes in order for the club to be able to survive - changes that may have to be so drastic, that we find ourselves on one hell of a slippery slope.
Relegation isn't in the best interests of this football club at this current time.
Thanks for reading,
Gloria.

Dead right, but the finances and the plans are there to stop us having to sell everyone, in the style of Ridsdale's tenure at Leeds. It'd be disastrous, but not fatal. Besides, let's all be honest it was a lot more fun in the old days wasn't it

Except, the reward for winning the Championship is promotion to the Premiership, which you don't like.

I was thinking the same thing, H. Pedersen.
I genuinely wonder if Natasha would be a happier person if she supported Preston or Bury.

I'm just saying one season (maybe more) of playing attacking football and winning a few matches is preferable to the utter shite we've seen over the last 3 or 4 years. As Batman says, it was a lot more fun a few years ago.

It is amazing how someone who likes to think they support their own club is wanting them to be relegated for what? For the reason of some small glory hunting of winning a few games and then promotion back to a League which the person despises.
I mean who is to say that if we did get relegated we could go up again next season what would this so-called fan do if we ended up spiralling back down to Div4 (new money - League 2).
Enjoy what we have now - who knows how long its going to last, but enjoy - may not be the best but it definitely is not the worst and most of all we are televised around the world, unlike if we ended up in any other division! And that means we are open to new fans, new markets and most of all new money!

Before I read your post, ie when I saw the title, I thought "well don't watch it then!" After reading it I thought "I agree with every single word and I thought the exact same thing when I watch the first round proper" ........but then I also thought - hang on a minute doesn't Natasha hate people standing, dancing and singing at football? I'm sure she said that people chanting etc is part of what is wrong with football!

I miss the evening games, the regular saturday 3pm kick offs instead of these silly tea time and Sunday games. I miss the David Lees, John McGinleys, Keith Brannagan, and the White Hot Days and Nights, And yes I would be devastated if we where not in the Premiership but I think I would still enjoy the Championships but there is no guarantee of a place in that Division, so many clubs have struggled since being relegated. But it's not going to happen, Onwards and Upwards!

Radiohead has a point, I was thinking this to myself the other day, at away games how many players from the 90's and previous like Willie Morgan etc get there name chanted. The players of the past 10 years or so have not really ticked all the boxes with the fans.
Take Jussi or Gardner for example, nobody is going to forget what they have contributed to the club but they don't really have that thing that makes them unforgettable.
Obviously Frandsen, Nolan , Davies and Bergsson come into the memorable category but that is not many considering how many have played for us in the last 10 years.
The current class of BWFC is very lacking in character.

It's not glory hunting, there's no guarantee we'd be any good in the Championship especially if Coyle is still in charge. I'm just bored of Premier League football. Bored of just surviving. Bored of being happy getting a point at Fulham. Bored of seeing very average players earning ridiculous figures. Bored of not trying to win cup competitions. Bored of 17th being our only ambition. BORED BORED BORED. p.s. Don't know why I'm replying to Dutchy, he's not even a fan.
