Saw him earlier this year - not too bad, but personally he isn't the best I have seen.  Once he gets away from the jokes about the prejudice he received about his sexuality, which does go on a bit and becomes tedious, he can be funny

I've heard his crowd is 99% gay, is this true? It wasn't the case for Alan Carr for some reason.

The best comedian I have seen this year was Reginald D Hunter - from the moment he took to the stage up to when he finished his part of the evening I was laughing almost continuously - both Us and British references.  Was just funny.

If there is one wish is that I would like to see John Bishop do his stand-up routine - in the programmes I have seen him in he has been very observant and funny and I just wonder if his non-television work is just as good.

Possibly used a different set when you saw him... but the Americans in the audience, when I saw him, didn't think much of him.  When I saw him he had a 60 minute spot and about 40 minutes were about gay prejudice within family and then outside the family.  The other 20 minutes was all about observations - now that is the humour I do like.

John Bishop is best at the moment - although only seen from Television stand up shows.  Probably due to the way he delivers the humour more than anything else.

I was making a reference to a Steve Coogan character.

I know you were - however Steve Coogan as himself, as seen on Granada Upfront many-a-time was good, but when he goes into character such as Alan Partridge he is poor, personally speaking

Going off thread - has anyone been to the Comedy Store in Manchester?

What's the food like? I'm going there on Friday and, whilst I'm not expecting Michelin star standards, if it's shíte then I'll eat before.

Food at the Frog & Bucket is shite. Not a clue about the food at the Comedy Store though.
Doesn't really help does it? There's plenty of decent places round there, surely you'd be better going to Dimitris round the corner or Sapporo Teppanyaki. Though Im not sure you'd fork out for the food there. Grin

"Angelos Epethmiou" might be the least funny "comedian" i've ever seen on the TV.

I've moved him above Jack Whitehall in my list.

Been a few times, would avoid if I was you.

Food on the locks is pretty consistent so just get something in one of the next-door bars instead
