Right i watched it.
O'Halloran was our best player with Odabeyi close by. Both really positive going at their men Obadeyi caused havoc down both sides and O'Halloran was very neat and tidy.
Blakeman was good as well, his delivery is very good, but he was a bit sloppy at times.
Young Irwin came on at the end and had some very nice touches but looks very slight.
Vela - very tough in the tackle, all over the place though, positioning was erratic but he can definitely get stuck in.
Worst player? You guessed it Alonso - very very very poor.
No first touch, no second touch, poor passing, misplaced almost every pass, mainly just lumped it forward, got beaten again and again by some young L'pool player.
He did win all his headers though.

Sounds interesting. Was anyone good enough to warrant a first 11 spot?

Le God, O' Halloran looks okay from what I have seen of him. You are spot on about Vela.

Nope; Obadeyi looked the most ready tbh, he's stronger than the others, pace and power but I'm not sure he'd make an impact in the prem. The right back Battersby was good as well.

I doubt very much that Oobladee is the answer to our prayers. Didn't we farm him out to Swindon last year where he did rock all ?

Nah he isn't gonna do anything in the prem; if he was he'd be taking the piss out of people at that level.
he was just the best on the day.
I reckon he'd make an impact in the championship - given a bit of a run, even though the loans didn't work out.

I hope he has improved since his time at rochdale a couple of years back because the dale fans I spoke to thouht he was terrible at that level.

Given the lad is 22 and been out on loan, you would expect him to be a lot more confident and competent at reserve team level. I would not read anything into it.

Good to see our multi-million pound set up is still churning out all these future stars. I don't know why we bother.

I read a while back that Gartside was losing patience with the youth team manager, I think it's david lee and tony kelly and for the money put into it he wanted results.
Doesn't seem to me that we will ever get good players coming through unless the greedy clubs like united and city stop nicking local lads from our academy.

Kelly and Lee have not long been in the job so I cannot see that being true.

All of the academy products I can think of now play in the Championship. Nolan, Hunt, Vaz Te, O'Brien, Basham, Ward . . . depressing.

They where that poor by sound of it so they all could feature Saturday.

Res: Bolton 1 United 2 Two goals from promising striker William Keane were enough to hand United’s Reserves victory against a strong Bolton side on Tuesday night.
Bulgaria international Martin Petrov played and scored for the home side, but it was teenager Keane who had the biggest impact on the game, netting in each half. His first came after just 15 minutes when he was quick to react after Trotters goalkeeper Jay Lynch spilled Jesse Lingard’s shot into the striker’s path.
