The January transfer window has come to an end and Bolton Wanderers completed three deals on deadline day.
Ryo Miyaichi and Marvin Sordell were the new arrivals at the Reebok Stadium, while academy prospect Graeme MacGregor joined Scottish side Hamilton Academical on loan until the end of the season.
Transfer deadline day started with speculation over the future of club captain Kevin Davies and a possible move to Premier League rivals Sunderland.
Davies has fallen down the pecking order at the Reebok in recent weeks and Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill was ready to offer the 34-year-old an 18 month contract at the Stadium of Light.
By lunchtime, though, any chances of a deal were brought to an end with the news that Davies would be staying with Bolton. Some reports suggested the one-time England international had been offered a new deal at the club but one thing is for sure, the former Southampton forward will remain with the Trotters until, at least, the end of the season.
Soon after, news broke that Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha would be staying at Selhurst Park after the Eagles rejected a second offer from Wanderers for the 19-year-old.
Palace refused to reduce their valuation of the player, meaning he joined Juan Manuel Iturbe on the list of missed targets after the Argentina international was denied a move by his club, FC Porto.
Another player that was heavily linked with a move to Bolton was Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams.
Wanderers boss Owen Coyle handed Williams his league debut during a loan stint at Burnley in 2009 and the 23-year-old has gone on to become one of the most consistent defenders in the Championship.
Coyle is thought to have made a £3million bid for the Australia international, only to see it turned down by Boro bosses.
Then, as the afternoon wore on, news broke that Wanderers had completed the loan signing of Arsenal midfielder Ryo Miyaichi.
A Japan under-19 international, Miyaichi is highly rated at the Emirates Stadium and joins Wanderers on the back of an impressive loan spell at Dutch giants Feyenoord in the second half of last season.
Such was his form in Rotterdam, comparisons were made to global names such as Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi.
Ryo will provide much needed competition on both wings for the rest of the season, with Martin Petrov and Chris Eagles playing unopposed for most of the campaign following a horrific injury to Lee Chung-Yong in pre-season.
As we approached 9pm, Scottish First Division side Hamilton Academical announced the loan signing of Bolton starlet Graeme MacGregor.
MacGregor has represented Scotland at every level from under-15 to under-19 and is held in high regard by Wanderers boss Coyle.
The 18-year-old is yet to feature for the first team at the Reebok Stadium and Coyle will be hoping a spell in Scotland will help him push for inclusion in his squad next season.
Finally, the news that everybody had been waiting for. Reports surfaced on Friday evening that Marvin Sordell had been pulled out of the Watford squad prior to last night's victory at Millwall as he was in talks over a move to Bolton.
Wanderers were known to be talking to the player but as the transfer window slammed shut at 11pm, no official confirmation had been made regarding the deal.
As the clock ticked past midnight, there was still no official word from the Reebok Stadium and many Wanderers fans were beginning to question if the deal had actually gone through on time.
Then, at 1:20am UK time, an announcement was made to confirm Bolton had completed the signing of Sordell for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half year contract.
After 31 days of business, the final deal was completed in the early hours of Wednesday morning much to the relief of everybody associated with the club.
All in all, it's been a relatively successful month for Bolton. First of all, Gary Cahill completed a £7million move to Chelsea, before New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream moved to Wanderers for around £2million.
With Ryo Miyaichi moving on loan and Marvin Sordell completing an estimated £3.2million switch on deadline day, Wanderers have boosted the numbers in their squad, while also making a profit overall.
