Things are bad, we're in a crisis, losing 13 of our last 15 league games. This can't keep going on. How many more defeats do you think it would be before Coyle gets the boot? I personally think if we lose this weekend it is the end. Does anyone agree?
I think Coyle is a great bloke, really nice guy, but tactically he is just not up to it sadly.

The three games in November are potentially winnable so I think he has got to the end of the month at least.

I think that if we lose to Stoke, he has to go. It is since we played them at Wembley that it's gone down hill, and losing again would turn most fans be completely against Coyle. If we get any points, he should have until the end of November.

Losing to Stoke would certainly turn me be completely against Coyle.

If Stoke take the points as easily as Sunderland I think he'll be out of a job this time next week.

If we lose but it's a close run thing he'll keep his job for WBA.

We can't let it drag on too long. The new bloke should be here to have a look at the squad in December then see what he could do for us in January.

If he does go after the Stoke game, really it would be an ideal time. It's the international break, which gives the Top Bollocks time to find a new manager, and then he'll have some time to get to know the squad.

He'll be given the 3 games this month to turn things around.

Depends how we play in the next 3 games.

If we play well in all but only come away with 2 points then I still think he will be in charge come december.

If we get battered against stoke and west brom then I think it is curtains.

I just don't get the impression that Coyle is under a lot of pressure.  When Gartside is in the stands he looks like he's running out of patience but I feel like Gartside has cast his lot with Coyle and isn't going to sack him so early in the season.

On the other hand, getting pasted by Stoke may bring up too many bad memories and force the club to make a move.

He won't sack Coyle and if he does, he'll wait until it's too late.

We haven't got a pot to piss in, and OC won't upset the applecart by asking for money.

He is a 'dead man walking' already.

I'd be amazed if the search is not already on for his successor.

Coyle as been shown to be completely bankrupt when it comes to having any ideas on strategy and tactics - and the club (no matter how much they may like him personally) will not face the threat of becoming bankrupt itself by becoming relegated.

Coyle as been found to be wanting when it comes to getting the best out of the team on the pitch - and that can't be allowed to continue.

Now here is the rub. What exactly do we do to move forward ? Everyone hated Megson  but he kept us in the Prem. Rubbish football, granted, but he brought some decent players in. After the Hull game he got the boot. In comes Coyle, the popular choice far and away above anyone else.
After the initial euphoria it now seems that all is not rosy in the garden. WTF do the management do ? Coyle is a likeable guy but there is no room for sentimentality in football.

Is Rafa Benitez available ? He won the Champions League with Liverpool and has a decent pedigree at top class level. Mourinho is not cutting the mustard with Real Madrid. Perhaps we should be looking at him ?

What about the oily bastard Sven ?

Or the Leprechaun, O' Neill ?

Toad of Toad Hall ? ( Abramovich )  Just look at his record at Chelsea ! Champions League finalist, no less. If only  that cockney spiv, Terry could shoot straight.

If you want to look at the future of modern day football  then Bradford City are the best example. From hero to zero in less than ten years.

Coyle is Bolton's second best manager of the Premier League era and won't be sacked even if Bolton are relegated this season. He showed enough in his first year that he has what it takes to manage Bolton. No manager would do much better with no money and his only quality midfielder out injured for a year.

This could well be a WUM post, but it is typical of certain sections of Bolton forums right now.

Despite an awful record people claim he is still a good manager - this I just don't get. In any form of management you are judged on results, not how nice you are. Coyle has clearly failed.

I agree he does have a pisspoor team but he signed most of 'em! I don't believe for a minute he knew Pratley, Eagles, NRC etc were Championship players and bought them just to get bodies in. He bought them to the club because he thought they would improve the team.

That's why he should go. If he's given the "desperation cash" that will no doubt come in January our fate will be sealed.

Not just me who thinks that then.

As much as Gartside and other people may like coyle, there is no room for nice guys in football if you can't get the results.

At the end of the day it's a results business and coyle just isn't getting them.

You'd have to think 3 more in a row would have him on very dodgy ground.

Bolton were no better than this for chunks of the first two seasons in the Premier League under Sam.It wasn't because he was a nice guy or poor manager it was because he had too many Championship players on a Championship budget. This is  where we are now but without a Michael Ricketts or Jay Jay Okocha to give us some attacking quality.Owen Coyle hasn't paid Premier League fees for these players they are Championship fees and for that you get Championship players.

No manager is going to come in and sign Premier League quality players without being given the funds to do so.
If you'll only spend £4 million on a striker then you're only going to get someone like Ngog.If you can only pay 20k a week for a winger then you'll get Eagles quality and not Wright Phillips.

Norwich, Swansea and Everton have spent nothing - they give it 100% for that shirt every week.

That is one of the problems with the team at the moment, they put no effort in whatsoever. They should be chasing down balls, making runs and throwing themselves in front of shots. Instead they just stand there blaming everything but themselves. I wouldn't mind the United, Chelsea and Arsenal defeats as much if the players had actually shown some pride and given it their best shot, like they sort of did against City.

So explain management to me then Sharps. I'm interested in what you think makes a good manager as results clearly don't mean much to you.
