It's been a while since we last played at Swansea. Have you ever been there before and what are your memories?
I remember being there once when we were chasing promotion, think it was 1990/91 season, and we needed Grimsby to lose their game. Somebody suddenly claimed that Grimsby were losing and we all went mental thinking we only had to win one more game to get promoted. I remember walking away from the ground and everyone was singing and celebrating. Then a guy with a little radio, who was listening to the final scores, told everyone Grimsby hadn't lost. Everyone was devastated and almost started rioting. Anybody remember this?

I was at that game. Remember a load of sheep shaggers throwing bricks at the cars from near some bus stop on the way back to the motorway. We took a quick right down towards the docks until they got moved on. My mate didn't want his nearly new car getting trashed. Two of the guys travelling with us had gone into the Swansea Jack pub before the game aswell. I thought they would end up in hospital but they got away with it.

Was this the game when Phil Neal was on the team coach , giving an interview for the radio, and the Swansea fans bricked it?

I've never been to the new ground. Should be a good day out.

October 1964, Div-2, lost 0-2. Went on train from Liverpool. Can't remember a thing. Oh, and it was still 'Swansea Town' back then.
October 1976, League Cup, drew 1-1. Off work, almost recovered from flu. Last minute decision to get the train from London; had to get the milk train back overnight. Vaguely remember it was a lively match. Went on to the semi-finals (Everton) that season.

Supposed to be quite vocal the sheep mitherers, should be an interseting day out. We're setting off at 7.

Where did you go? It must've been bad for someone from Aberdeen not to be impressed.

Went a couple of times to the old ground. One time we found a pub next to the harbour. There was some sort of regatta on and there was a constant stream of yachts sailing past most of which had several nice young ladies in bikinis sunbathing on the decks. It was hard to drag ourselves to the game.

I quite like visiting new grounds as a rule.
I'm not sure I'd go there even if I had the option.
It's the English Premiership, and they ain't.

I can't remember the last time I went to Swansea but it was probably in a 2-1 victory in the early 90's.
Can't remember too much other than David Lee jumping on the fence in front of me when we got the winner - nearly knocked my front teeth out.

That was probably when McGinlay scored the winner. Phil Brown had equalised for us after they'd scored pretty early on. I think anyway.

For some reason I thought Julian Darby had scored our first goal, probably wrong though.

I don't know now. It was a header from a corner.
I think.
Edit - I've just checked. I'm right as usual.

Where does one go to check such statistics?

I typed Bolton Wanderers 1993 Swansea into google and it gave me a link to the official site. Tony Kelly is talking about the last time we played in Swansea.

I can remember going to Swansea in the early 80s, we lost 3-0 and if i remember correctly Leighton James scored all 3 and i think 2 were pens. It was the season that saw the Swans get promoted to the old first division and i think it was the same season that thet dicked us 4-1 at burnden. That was the start of some very dark times,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Can you see a pattern forming here?.
