Can anyone explain to me why when the Wigan goal today flew into the TOP of the net today that Jussi ended up (once again) on his bleeding knees!

Take a look at the goal again here -

...now tell me what the fcuk he was doing?

Am I missing something obvious or what?

Perhaps he's praying it won't go in or maybe it's his age. He should try putting his arm up next time and maybe even jumping.

When I first saw it I thought it had gone right in the side netting & there wasn't a lot he could do about it. When you look from the back it goes almost a couple of yards inside the post. When the shot's first taken for some reason he steps to the right before just sinking to his knees to the left.

I'm with you, I don't get it. He's really lost his spring. Too many times where he doesn't even get off the ground & it's been going on for a while. As soon as someone shoots towards the top of the net he seems to convince himself he's not going to get there so he doesn't even try.

I don't know that he could have saved it . . . I would have liked to at least see him give it a real effort.

He has certainly lost something this season and last season, he doesn't seem to have one of them games anymore where he looks unstoppable.

Spot on Aaron, he's not had one of them games for ages, and he seems to get beaten far too easy from outside the box. I started to worry about him after the semi when he let in 3 from outside the area, very rare you will see that from any keeper.

Same in the Man City game - we kept them out until they started to shoot from outside the box.

I remember the game against villa at villa park quite a few years back when he made the world class save which won save of the season on MOTD, we won the game 1-0 after a speed penalty.

Best I have ever seen him play.

I was right behind the goal and I thought he should have saved it. I don't know if he was unsighted but it certainly didn't take a deflection.

Perhaps he needs Specsavers. He had long enough to see the ball, just never moved to it.

A lot of these goals he's letting in these days he would have stopped a few years ago. I suppose we have to put up with him for now looking at the back up.

I'll see your Villa and raise you Hull away 08/09.

We won 1-0 with a Matty Taylor goal, and Jussi had a stormer.
