There's no doubt that the first 45 minutes on Sunday were pitiful. We have a clueless manager and players who simply don't care about Bolton Wanderers FC. But was it the most spineless performance you have ever witnessed?

At the risk of sending people into an even bigger depression, what have been the most spineless performances by a Bolton team since you started watching them?

Unfortunately, I've lost count but no doubt many of them have come under Coyle's management. The 3-0 trouncing at Ewood a couple of years back was truly awful and is my stand out spineless performance because it was a local derby.

Perhaps the worst 45 minutes of football I ever saw from a Bolton team was back in the 90's at Watford. We lead 3-0 at half-time but ended up losing 4-3 after the players simply threw in the towel once Watford scored their second.

What about you?

Amazingly, I'd forgotten about that one. But being trounced by Rovers still upsets me more.

Any games in the last couple of years against local opposition seem pretty spineless to me. A couple too at the end of last season against Blackpool and Sunderland just looked like gifts to the opposition.

Get rid of this Scottish fanny and bring someone in who will kick this idle lot up the arse.

For someone that claims to be an incredibly successful business woman - You are posting first thing on a Monday morning - it is either a very slow week or your job is dull as fúck and 9-5.

I hate my job.

But seriously, on the OP I would have to pick a spectacular 3-0 defeat at Goodison a couple of years ago. Shíte.

Agreed, that game still depresses me.  When we got thumped at Boro 5-1 was also bad.

The original Black Sunday was a bad one.

A thread like this shouldn't be allowed on a Monday morning.

I'm going to end up hurting someone today.

The thumping at Villa park under Megson was really bad.

Many years ago before the advent of the Prem. We played Chelsea in the old Division 1. We were leading 3-0 at half time but lost the game 4-3.

Think the 0-0 draw at home to sunderland on the 1st day of the season a few years back was pretty bob for me. Can't remember a single shot on goal or any fight or will to win

Yeah course I have, but that was a pretty piss poor performance also, just cos we didn't lose doesn't mean that I think it was a good outing. It was shite

I'd say anyone out of about 11 games in our last 13... QPR, City this season being the exceptions...

So what is the most spineless performance you've seen then?

I could name 100 games worse than any 0-0 I've seen.

We did the same at Watford. 3-0 up at half time. Conceded four goals in something like the last 20 minutes. Worst performances I saw, 0-6 against the Scum, getting beat at home 5-1 I think, by Coventry, and this season in general. Most dissapointing games, any losing to Tranmere, Wigan, Bury and all the other dross that used to turn us over in the 80s and 90s.

Losing at home to Crewe 3-1 was a bad 'un, fúcking Rodney Jack always used to score against us.

21 - Bolton have conceded more goals than any other team in any season after seven games in Premier League history. Volume.
