.... does it cost to buy and sell a house!!!

Must admit I've never done it before, started working at the wrong point in time so been a renter for the last 12 years until moving in with the Misses, but we're in the process of selling up now, and reckon we'll be paying about £20k for the privilege.

It's enough to make me think about not bloody moving...

£20k? How did you get that figure?

Stick a sign up outside your house saying 'For Sale' and you're sorted.

£7k estate agent fees to sell, 3% stamp duty to buy so about £10k, and then legal fee's... add on all the little bits like getting stuff in storage short term till we sell, EPC fee's blah... blah...blah... Expensive shizzel...

My best friend is an Estate Agent. She always tells her friends to never pay the standard commission fee that Estate Agents charge. They'll tell you their commission is fixed but it isn't. Most would rather have 1% of something than 1.5% of nothing. Do not pay more than 1% commission. Ever.
