I am going to have to fire someone today. They've not done anthing terrible like Natashas out of control staff and been wánking or shagging in the toilets. I might've let that go if they had to be honest. Apparently, despite repeated warnings, they keep smoking in their office at work. I'm not there that often so it doesn't bother me but it's against the law and is bothering a couple of the other staff. All the lazy bastard has to do is go outside for a smoke.

Should I sack him or make him eat 20 Malboro as punishment?

When replying please make it known if you're a smoker or none smoker please.

Non - Smoker, Dave.I wouldn't blame you if you cut him loose. That's ridiculous that. Not even the first warning either...

The grasses are women in their 20's. The smoker is a city supporter in his 50's. Do you still think I should sack the grasses?

Fwiw they claim to have asked him several times before they came to me about it. I've warned him twice about it but it seems he's carried on anyway.

One has a nice hand full and the other you'd need both hands. They're unsackable.

I've warned the smoker before and told him he has to stand outside. He moaned about it being cold and raining all the time. So I told him to sit in his car. But he claims he doesn't smoke in his car. I think I've either got to sack him today or choke him out or arm lock him as a final warning.

I'd sack him just for that.

If you've given him a verbal warning followed by a written warning then ditch him.

If you haven't issued a written warning you could be on sticky ground legally, although I'm no expert.

He's had a couple verbal warnings. The second time I told him it was his final warning.

Do I need to give a written warning?

Maybe it would be easier if I just kill him and dispose of his body then.

Yeah, I didn't follow procedures when I was off sick, even though I wasn't aware what the policies were. And it had never been reinforced to anyone here what they were. Although recently, we get an email every day about the company's policies...

To cover yourself I would because he can always deny the verbal warnings or claim he didn't understand them.

Smoker - If he has been warned before about it then he should be sacked.

Im probably one of the few smokers who didnt mind the smoking ban, going outside dosnt bother me. Before the ban when I was in a pub or club I could easily have got through 20 in a few hours, now since the ban Im lucky if I go through 5 on a night out and even then I end up only smoking half of one and then throwing it out.

Would a text message be ok?

Smoker

Quit. What do you get out of smoking? Unless you're smoking some weed it's pretty pointless.

The most pitiful thing about that story is you probably was sick because you are a god botherer and lying is wrong and they are trying to be harsh with you.

I would have told them to fcúk off.
