If we part company with Coyle who is available and prepared to take the job? I don't see any obvious candidates at the moment which is one reason I think Coyle will definitely be with us going into 2012.

We've had this discussion recently.

It was decided I am the only man for the job.

I think most went for Souness or Roy Keane.

Don't start with that shíte.

I would cut either of their throats before they got through their first day in the job.

I think a Megson style protest would happen, where 5 14 year olds and a scout leader stand outside the ground with A4 paper.

Coyle isn't going to get sacked anyway. We'll lose next week and then our season really begins.

If we lose the next 6 games he might do though.

Agree; lets see what happens against Wigan and Sunderland. If we're beaten by 4 or 5 by them then forget it.

Bloody hell! Two psychos who would guarantee permanent relegation.

The thing that I don't understand is that IF Coyle is weak on strategy and Tactics - which it seems to me he his - then why doesn't he / the club, employ someone who is to help him with them?

We have goal keeping coaches and defensive coaches, etc, then why not have a 'tactics' coach as well?

Football these days is about the man management of young multimillionaire men and using their footballing skills in the most effective (team) way on the pitch.

It seems to me that Coyle is good as the man manager bit - but not so with the deep thinking bit of the job.

Instead of it being a Coyle is a great manager / Coyle is a shite manager debate, why doesn’t the club / Coyle himself, employ someone who as a gift for seeing how to use their footballing nous to get the best out of the team on the pitch and is able to spot and exploit our opponents weaknesses?

Seems an obvious thing to do to me?

Because Coyle would have to admit to the world he is a tactical fanny. He'd rather relegate us and put us out of business than ask for help.

Paulo Di Canio. It was a great appointment by Swindon and if he's given time there he'll turn them round.

He'd do the same for us. He has bags of passion and has played at the very top level. The players would respect him but he also seems like a decent guy.

When that tosspot Leon Clarke pulled a strop he didn't put his arm round him and try and be his friend. He told him to fcuk off and find another club. This is exactly the kind of manager we need.

Paulo Di Canio! Your'e having a laugh! What managerial experience does he have ? Granted he is passionate but passion alone doesn't win matches. He would end up getting chinned in the dressing room with the likes of Reo Coker, Wheater and Robinson. He hasn't exactly set Swindon alight.

I don't want Coyle to be sacked and he won't get sacked. But if he was my shortlist would be:
John Sitton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obixCOVTVwY

He'd sort these charlies out.

I'm not having a laugh.

He's started well at Swindon. It's not easy to reverse 10 years of failure overnight.

Coyle is too desperate to be loved. We need a manager who wants to win more than be invited to Zat Knight's dinner party.

He has done okay at Swindon so far. Played ten and won five. Let's see where they finish at the end of the season. Coyle won promotion to the Premier league with a limited budget at Burnley don't you know ?

I have had a bit of a think on who would be a good candidate if Coyle was to leave. Its difficult because other than Mark Hughes I can't think of many decent managers who are available. There aren't as many lower league managers who stand out right now. Maybe we should go for some experience like Carlos Quieroz, Bryan Robson, Trevor Francis, Ron Atkinson?

Ancellotti, Rafael Benitez (we wouldn't be able to afford them, but they're decent and unemployed)

My number one target would always be Micky Adams, a quality manager. But my love of him is already well documented on here.

What about Dean Holdsworth?

He's not ready yet, but if he does well at Aldershot he'll move up the leagues pretty quickly.
