I enjoy MMA but I don't think it is suitable for eight year old kids. Way out of order. My sisters lad is nineteen and he has had a few fights already. He started training at sixteen but didn't have his first fight until he was eighteen.

I saw this on the news last night. I'm all for kids doing some karate or judo or whatever. It's good excercise and gives them something to do.

Kids cage fighting in front of a load of pissheads is fúcked up though imo.

Judo, Karate and Tae Kwando are great for kids to take up from the age of seven onwards but whoever thought up the idea of MMa for eight year olds must have rocks in his head.

It's all a bit of fun.

They should tool them up with baseball bats to make it more interesting. I'd pay good money to watch that.

They offer boxing at the local boys and girls club (its kind of a youth hostile for under privileged kids)
Yet they have no equipment so they go bare knuckles with no head gear
Good idea as far as I can see most of them will never have a job anyway

It sounds pretty hostile to me.

All sharps dreams come true if you ask me.

Kids in cages. Fighting. Beer. Swimming trunks. Gay. All he needs now is for it to be black V white.

(of course I am joking before the inevitable ban jayjay request comes in)

Completely agree. MMA for me has been a great discipline but to introduce kids to it at such an early age is a poor decision. Thai, bjj or wrestling is fine for kids and then once at a later age move into MMA.
Pretty shocking this and doesn't cover our sport in a shining light.

Children's MMA?

Nowt wrong with it: it's only a little pin prick and it stops lots of diseases.
