Another burglar gets killed 'doing his job' in Manchester.
Does anyone care? Does an Englishman really have the right to 'defend his castle'?
I say once you step over the threshold of someone Else's property with clear unlawful intent then, within reason, you should be fair game. The criminal justice system does practically nothing to deter them so why can't we?
As for the floral tributes outside the home to the burglar - they deserve a swift kick into the gutter by any self respecting passerby.

My work colleague was in a similar situation a while back. I think you have a right to defend your own home. However, I don’t think that right extends upon killing the intruder. We still need to act with some human decency, I think.

Have you a link to said story? Have not heard about this but that is the sad soft as fcúk state of affairs this country is now in that Burglers are now thought of as some sort of jack the lad gypsy just plying his trade sort rather than the thieving fcuking parasite that they are.

I heard about this. He stabbed the burglar to death didn't he?
Hard luck I say. The home owner did the right thing imho.
All burglars deserve the same.

I know they've lost one of their family, but how fúcking moronic can someone be to put floral tributes outside a home that he was effectively caught burgling?
"Floral tributes, referring to him as "Ray" and "Raymondo", have been left outside the large detached house by relatives"

The owner of the house should have the £1.99 Aldi bouquets removed.

I doubt very much that the homeowner intended to kill the burglar but as he was confronted in his own home by two men who threatened him with knives he has every right to defend himself.
Unfortunately the burglar cant be be buried at the moment because the binmen in Wythenshawe are on strike.

Easy to say, I suspect if you were faced with this situation and there was the possibility of harm to you and your family you may think differently.

You do have the right to use reasonable force. Technically you could kill someone and get off with it if the courts see your actions as proportionate to the threat posed - ie: If said burglar threatened you with a knife then your life would be at risk, etc.... You also have the rights to use resonable force to detain someone caught committing a crime - if they punch you when you are trying to get hold of them then punch the fúckers back.

I don't understand some people's mentality in this country, he was trying to break into the guys house with a knife, if the home owner had tried to confront him without getting the knife we would now be talking about the home owner being killed.
He got what was coming to him IMO, if some fucker tried breaking into my house with a knife id do the same.

I was at the hospital this morning and....well this morning was on the tv and they were talking about this saying he pretty much had what was coming to him but in the next breath they are sorry to hear about him dying. Looks like an angel, I'm sure he was completely innocent. Yes he looks like a great guy, no doubt some idiot who knows him will say he was mis understood and was the life and soul of the party.

He took the knife into the man's house, so the home owner has no case to answer in my opinion. & whoever is laying flowers wants shoeing.

The flowers have been removed by the neighbours. It turns out the burglar who died was a career criminal who had been in and out of jail for years. No real loss to society in the grand scheme of things. Good riddance to bad rubbish. His co-accused Michael Thorpe is reputed to be a nasty piece of work as well.

I'm sort of not suprised with that bit either tbh. Confronting a burglar and defending yourself is one thing, doing the dirty deed is another. Most normal folk would brick it in that scenario.
